Italy will be our gem-sieving school location. In fact, it’s a country rich in mineral resources. The rough gemstones that can be found along the riverbeds are numerous but there are 3 myths that we must debunk in order to start this video course. Let's face them one by one to become unprejudiced gemstone prospectors.
Having debunked the myths regarding mineral and gemstones prospecting in Italy, it is time to teach you why it is better to look for alluvial rough minerals. Forget the natural occured-crystals outcropping in the mountains. Riverbeds, on the other hand, have notable areas that are available to prospect. This lecture resource contain the Transcript of this videocourse. Download it! It should be easier to follow every lesson, reading the PDF and listening my explanations.
We mentioned in the previous lesson that alluvial rough-gemstones were once "embedded" in rocks along the mountains. Ice and water have eroded them downvalley and now you can find them downstream along the riverbeds. The watercourse selects more resistant and denser minerals; these are: rubies, sapphires and garnets for example.
Rivers are great places to prospect for gemmiferous-gravel. However, denser minerals will be concentrated only in small volumes of alluvial gravel, also called "gem pay-dirt". Once found, it will be up to the gem-prospector to choose the best minerals with the greatest potential during the sorting phase.
In order to become a successfull alluvial rough gemstones prospector, it is essential to face several issues. Here are 7 practical exercises (solved together), in order to help you in the future challenges that await you.
High quality gemstones are dispersed in the river gravel but there is a way to dig the alluvial sediment saving your energy. I explain how to excavate and prepare the gem-rich sediment for the next sieving phases.
The practice of searching for alluvial rough gemstones is a full-time work activity in foreign countries, such as Montana (USA), Sri Lanka and Cambodia. In this lesson, I explain step by step how to approach this kind of hobby or profession depending on your interest.
Once the gemmiferous sediment has been sieved, the gemstone roughs were isolated from the other sterile sediment. How should you choose the most valuable gemstone during your survey? I answer this and other questions in this lesson.
The rough gemstones you will be looking for are rare, especially the most valuable ones. In fact, transparency and a beautiful color are needed to provide an application to the already found minerals. How can we forget how important size is for making bigger faceted gemstones, which will be worth a lot once set up on a jewel.
Thanks to my experience along riverbdeds, I have selected 7 minerals and rocks that you should look for both in Italy than in other countries. In this lesson, I show you how rough rubies, sapphires, jades, emeralds, quartzes and much more are notable specimens. Furthermore, I will also explain to you what value they could have once you polish them with REAL examples.
In Italian riverbeds there are real treasures: gem-quality minerals. But you have to recognize them when you meet them. You must therefore provide the right definition. Now let's begin to understand what should be sought and found, as well as what to do with them once they have been collected.
These 5 simple steps will allow you to recognize the most of unknown minerals found throughout your adventures with a few low budget tools.
You have found many minerals at the river. You have chosen the best ones (eg. well colored and highly transparent). It's time to think about how much they can be worth and what to do with them.
Thanks to this course so far you have learned where to look for minerals along riverbeds, how to find and recognize them. Do you want to sell a part to monetize your explorations and invest in further future tools and surveys? Or, would you like to have a unique adventure in Italy in the gem-rich regions? Sell your minerals and make a profit (but don't get ripped off) with this lesson. This lecture resource contain the Transcript of this videocourse. Download it! It will be a good summary of what I have so far explained.
In this practical tutorial, I am going to show you how to use a bambu made sieve, in order to find your rough alluvial gemstones at the riverside. This custom sieve comes from gem-rich SRI LANKA regions.
In this practical tutorial, I am going to show you how to use a metallic home-made sieve, in order to find your rough alluvial gemstones at the riverside. This custom sieve project comes from sapphire-rich USA Montana regions.
“Did you know that there is gem-rich gravel that can be worth from a few dollars up to thousands?“
In this video course, I teach you, step by step, from the basics, how and where to look for gemstone-rough minerals in the riverbeds. In few lessons, You will be able to find rubies, sapphires, topazes, jades and much more precious gemstones. Italy will be our practical school and a case-studies for these lectures; In fact, Piedmont is the richest gemmiferous region in this interesting country.
Every aspect of this topic is treated with professional exclusive pictures and advanced English-based explanations. Moreover, you can download English easy-to-follow written transcripts, coming directly from the related lectures. So, you can read and in the meanwhile listen the same lesson, in order to get the most from this content. Morover, you can download the slides and deepen more these fascinating topics.
Let's dive into what this videocourse is about: watercourses are natural collectors, so you can take a simple hiking and find valuable pebbles that come from upstream.
Furthermore, watercourses are natural selectors: only the densest and hardest minerals will be preserved, allowing you to discover wonderful specimens and unprecedented findings.
These lessons offer real and practical examples to make you independent in the discovery of gemstones along every riverbed and enhance them into faceted gemstones and cabochons, in order to make unique and exclusive local jewels. Nearby your house, there could be several goldsmiths' workshops and precious gems cutting shops, ready to buy your lot of mineral roughs. Are you ready to get the best price possible?
This course has been created with a goal: I want to allow everyone to create a collection of minerals from 0 (zero),
as well as to partially or completely monetize your findings. There are exercises (with solutions), practical examples of faceted gemstones and trading tricks.
