Here's a quick intro to what to expect during our course!
Part 1 gives you the first 5 steps to starting a conversation. We talk about how to find places you feel comfortable to have conversations, how to prepare, body language such as mirroring the other person, and what it means. In addition, we talk about how short conversations, aka, “mini conversations”, can really help build confidence. Lastly, we talk about how to become a professional observer and why this matters in conversation.
In part 2, we talk about why asking for someone's opinion or suggestion can spark high-quality conversation and the Franklin effect. Then we dig into how to use a smile and giving compliments to your advantage. We also know it can be hard to talk about yourself so we give you suggestions and tips along with how to follow up with people effectively.
In part 3, we talk about why conversation items can spark conversation without much effort. Also, asking for a favor while talking about a mutual experience or friend really can benefit you. Lastly, being vulnerable can be used more than you think.
If you're wondering how to keep the conversation going, then using conversation threads can be very beneficial to improving your social skills. Here we talk about tips and give examples.
