    Hello my friend!

Welcome to my course. I’m exceedingly pleased that you have decided to take on this exciting and rewarding journey of job search with me. I completely understand how frustrating it could be to look for a job, irrespective of the reason for the search which could include job loss, change of career or looking for the first time following completion of university or college. I have been there several times and that’s why I’m passionate about taking this journey with you.

Over the years, the face of job application has changed tremendously as a result of the power emerging technologies, especially the information and communication technology. We have witnessed our street recruitment agencies disappearing and have seen more and more roles filled online. In fact, recent report has it that about 80% of job seekers used online resources and over 85% of all roles are filled through networking. This is indeed staggering! As at July 2020, about 4.5 billion people were active in internet worldwide. COVID 19 has hastened the future and a greater percentage of transactions are now completed online.

I have designed this course in line with these realities as this is also the future of job applications. I request one thing from you: complete the course and do the exercises! I crave for your feedback through the rating tools, but please feel to reach out to me on the areas that need improvement if you need to do that before rating the course.

    I wish you every success!

Description

Job application process has changed, so must your approach. This is even more as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to gain dominance. There is no gainsaying the fact that your success in job search begins with the presentation of your resume. This is at the core of this course. This course covers the wide spectrum of job application processes with special focus on creating a resume that is compliant with the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other digital candidates ranking system. The main objective of the course is to arm job seekers with information to create captivating resumes that would guarantee selection by the ATS. The course takes a cursory look at the changing nature of recruitment processes and highlights the pre-application preparations required to create a digitally focused resume. The course also brings to the fore the various skillsets needed by candidates to gain the leading edge, including hard, soft and "plus" skills as well as where and how to acquire them. Moreover, the course succinctly presents the personal-branding concept and how candidates can leverage this to stand out. As a bonus, the course presents implementable tips on creating compelling profile on LinkedIn which has long become a complementary tool for recruiters.
