Build An eCommerce Site With WooCommerce and WooLentor

In order for your site to be accessible via the internet, you have to have a domain name and a hosting account. The domain name is the address of your site, similar to a street address in the real world. The hosting account is a harddrive in the cloud that will hold all of your website files, images and database.

Once you have a domain name and hosting, we can install WordPress.  WordPress is the world's leading website building software and it's what we'll be using in this course.

After WordPress is installed, we will log in for the first time.

When WordPress is installed, it comes with demo content so it's not a completely clean slate. In this video, I'll show you were all the demo content is and how to remove it so we can start fresh.

To get the most out of your WooCommerce Shop it's important that you use a theme created specifically for WooCommerce. The 99fy theme is a great option and we're going to install it in this tutorial.

The 99fy theme recommends that we install a number of plugins to get the most out of the theme and out of WooCommerce. That's we'll do in this tutorial.

To get our shop off the ground more quickly, we're going to import demo content from the 99fy theme. In this tutorial I show you how to find the demo content and how to import it.

Having an SSL certificate on your site means that your domain name will be preceded with an HTTPS:// which means the data your site transmits is encrypted. Google gives a slight rankings boost to sites with SSLs and your visitors also appreciate knowing your site data is encrypted.

WooCommerce comes with handy setup wizard. In this tutorial, we're going to walk through the setup wizard to configure the basics of our WooCommerce site.

If you want to have a store that sells internationally then you will need to be able to accept multiple currencies. In this tutorial, we're going to only install a great multi-currency plugin. We will configure it later in this course.

The simple product is the simplest product type in WooCommerce. In this tutorial, you will learn what it is and how to configure its' options.

The variable product is a popular product type in WooCommerce that allows you to setup variations of a product.  For example, if you are selling T-shirts, you can sell different colors and sizes of the same shirt and your shoppers can select which variations they want.

The external/affiliate product is a product that is sold by someone else. If someone clicks on the product listing on your site and then buys on the other company's website you earn a commission. you will learn how to set it up in this tutorial.

Grouped products are simple products (products created as "simple" products in WooCommerce) that are grouped together in a way that you can buy multiple of each type.  It is similar to the variable product, but with some key differences that you'll learn about in this tutorial.

A downloadable product is a digital product like an eBook that your customers can download from your shop. You'll learn how to set on up in this tutorial.

A service product can be used to sell coaching, plumbing services, legal services or any other kind of service. Usually, a service product is used to sell online services. You'll learn all about it in this tutorial.

The cross-sell options in WooCommerce allow you to show different products on your WooCommerce cart page depending on what products are in the shopping cart.

If you don't add payment methods to WooCommerce you can't accept any money and your store isn't going to anywhere. So let's set these up in this tutorial.

The header of the site is where your logo and your navigation menu live. Using the WordPress customize and the options provided by the 99fy theme we can add even more to the header.

The sidebar is a great place to add extra functionality to your shop like a product price filter. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to add a sidebar and customize it.

In this tutorial, we will configure the multi-currency switcher we installed near the beginning of this course. We'll be adding the handy switcher to the sidebar of your shop.

Another great widget to add to the sidebar is the product category widget. You will learn how to add it and customize it in this tutorial.

In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to customize the demo homepage we imported at the beginning of this course. We will do it using a drag-and-drop page builder called Elementor.

The footer of a website is very important for site navigation and copyright information. I'm going to show you how to customize it in this tutorial.

We have configured a number of options in the WordPress customizer already. In this tutorial, I'm going to walkthrough the rest of them so you can see where to customize lots of options for your WooCommerce shop.

A notification bar is a strip of content that appears somewhere on your website that alert visitors of something that is happening at that moment. For online stores, that alert bar would be used to notify everyone of sales that are currently happening. For this we'll use Hashbar, which is a very advanced notification bar creator.

Some of the pages that WooCommerce generates are very difficult to customize without digging into the WooCommerce template files and changing the code. In this tutorial, I'm going to show how to use one the few plugins that will allow us to customize default WooCommerce pages without touching any code. In fact, we can use the free Elementor template builder to customize our WooCommerce pages.
