Elsie Guerrero is a children's book author who writes books about children with disabilities and the Latinx communities. Her purpose is to promote inclusion and to educate students about their peers who may likely have a disability or be of Latinx descent. The goal is to help eliminate bullying, discrimination, and misconceptions and promote inclusion. The take away for all the books is inclusion.
Elsie has published nine books about children who have a disability and three books about the Latinx community. A small portion of the proceeds goes towards scholarships. One hundred percent of the book, Puerto Rico: Its own Land is going towards building a park for children in Puerto Rico who have been impacted by Hurricane Maria and the earthquake.
She has read to students in California, Texas, Kentucky, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. She has also been featured in Telemundo, NBC Latino, Newsweek Mexico, and many blogs. Elsie was recognized as an honoree for the 2020 Latina of Influence by the Hispanic Lifestyle magazine.
