Welcome to my course, "How To Become A Better Educator." There is no such thing as the perfect teacher or public speaker. As educators and speakers, we must always strive to be better. Along the way, we will all fall into one, or both, of two pits. I call them 'The pit of the mundane', and 'The pit of complacency.' In this course you will learn how to avoid those pits, or, climb out of them. You will learn how to keep your audience and students engaged, and interested, along with learning self-motivational skills in order to avoid these pits. This course has five modules. Module 1 - What is an educator, Module 2 - Know your audience, Module3 - Interaction, Module 4 - Tools, and Module 5 - Summing it all up. Thank you and enjoy the course.

  • Module 1 - What Is An Educator17:09

Welcome to Module 1, What Is An Educator. In this module, you will learn the role of the modern-day educator. Over the years, education, as well as the availability to become educated, have evolved. Public speaking has also been taken to new levels. In this module, you will learn about these new roles and how social pressure has affected teaching and speaking. You will learn how, as an educator, you need to adapt to these changing times. You will also learn about the pitfalls and shortcomings that many educators face and how to avoid them as well as overcome them.

  • Module 2 - Know Your Audience17:07

Welcome to Module 3 - "Know Your Audience." In this module, you will learn how to know your audience. We live in an age of diversity. You will learn how to identify the various types of learners. Whether or not you are a public speaker or a teacher, you are educating others. Identifying your audience is critical to your success as an educator and getting the proper message to your students. In addition, you will learn how to embrace diversity and incorporate teaching methods that will reach all types of learners.

  • Module 3 - Interaction17:00

Welcome to Module 3 - "Interaction." In this module, you will learn how to interact with and engage your audience or students. The key to becoming a successful educator relies on your ability to interact with your audience or students and keep them engaged. Although interaction and engagement are different, they are synergetic. Alone, they are self-limiting. However, together, they create a complete learning experience. You will learn how to incorporate these together to keep your audience and students engaged, and interested, helping them to interact with you, and each other. You will learn how to identify the stronger and weaker learners and combine the two to make the stronger students stronger, and the weaker students stronger.

  • Module 4 - Tools18:16

Welcome to Module 4 - "Tools." In this module, you will learn about the many tools that are available to us as educators to assist us in making our lectures interesting, engaging, and promoting interaction. We live in a world where new technology is developed daily. You will learn the benefits of social media and how to use social media as an effective teaching tool. You will also learn how to incorporate this technology into your lectures. You will learn how to create and promote a comfortable learning environment to promote a higher level of learning.

  • Module 5 - Summing It Up14:40

Welcome to the final module in this course. Module 5 - "Summing It Up." In this module, we will review all the key learning points discussed in the previous modules. You will learn some additional skills regarding how to put everything you have learned into a complete teaching package. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking this course and hope it has met your expectations. As educators, we all must remain committed to our continuing education in order to meet the demands of today's students. These principles apply to all grade levels. The research you perform along the way in conjunction with what you have learned in this course will guide you on how to apply what you have learned to your classes or speaking engagements. Thank you, Caesar Rondina.
