My name is Michelle Shlafman, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia + Florida and work at Perspectives Center for Holistic Therapy.
I honor your process for seeking support whether it be via therapy or course content, as I know it is vulnerable, and I hope (as you read my bio) you get a feel for me and the services I provide so that you can make an informed decision on this next step of your journey.
I began seeing clients in 2013 during my Master’s program at Stetson University, where I graduated with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During that time, I worked for a community-based agency providing individual, group, and family services for children, young adults, and families.
While living overseas in 2015, I had the privilege of traveling to different parts of the world, which helped me better understand multicultural sensitivity and emotional experiences.
I moved to Atlanta in 2016 where I have been holding space for clients, supervising interns, and offering holistic workshops.
I always tailor my services to each individual client, helping them move toward their goals. I have worked in the field for over a decade and the majority of my clients are adults that have concerns relating to anxiety, relationship distress (with self or partner [break-ups]), overwhelming stress, creative blocks, life transitions, spiritual crisis, trauma, chronic illness/pain, and LGBTQIA+ community.
In our sessions together, I will not give you advice; however, I will guide you to your own answers, as I believe you have all the wisdom inside you to make choices and decisions based on your inner guidance.
I have a huge passion for health and wellness – I honor the strong connection between body and mental wellness, which means outside the office you can usually find me doing yoga or spending time in nature, cooking creative and healthy meals with my husband, and playing with our pups Kiwi and Peaches.
I enjoy teaching mindfulness and meditation workshops in the community, creating YouTube videos/Social media, and recording meditation scripts on Insight Timer.
I truly believe that we are all worthy and deserving of living a life that brings us joy, health, & a sense of loving purpose.
Ready to open you eyes to the healing potential within your body! I love the ability to show each person I work with the power that they hold within themselves. I hope through my courses you are able to awaken your inner peace and find a strength you previously didn't know you possessed.
