Description

Welcome to High School Biology - Cell Growth and Division! In this course, we'll learn about the cell cycle and all the factors that influence it. After taking biology courses for about 5 years now, I’ve realized that while biology is truly fascinating, it can also be incredibly intimidating. Biology is a really interesting topic, but it can be quite complicated, so in this course, I try to make the concepts as easy to understand as possible. In this course, we'll cover the cell cycle, how cell size plays a factor, mitosis and meiosis (and their differences), how differentiation and stem cells work, and we'll touch on cancer as well. The structure of the course is slideshows with me talking over and explaining the material. We also have some fun memes (or as fun as biology memes get) in each lecture, so you can look forward to that :). This should be a different experience than simply reading from a textbook, so I hope you enjoy. I hope to see you in the course!

This course is intended for anyone taking their first biology course, but it can also be helpful as a refresher for those wishing to review basic biology.

PS: Be sure to have a notebook handy to take notes! Biology is 90% vocab :)

Who this course is for:

  • Anyone taking their first biology course
  • Anyone interested in starting to learn about cell division and the cell cycle

Hey! My name is Sujanaa, and I'm currently a junior in high school. I've taken math classes up to Calculus BC, and I've done well in them. I like learning about science and medicine, and I'm working to further my passion. I am also learning French and have been since 7th grade, and I'm part of my school's French Honor Society. I love to read, and I try my best to get through at least 2 books a week, if possible.
