Download high availability cluster packages from the higher reliability repository. Move pacemaker packages to your repo server and set up the repository to install cluster packages on every machine.
Practice learning how to stop and start cluster services, verify quorum status, and maintain a running Linux high-availability cluster on RHEL 8.
Explore Linux high availability clustering on RHEL 8 by implementing last man standing and auto tie breaker to maintain quorum and manage cluster startup, status, and coalescing.
Configure a two-node cluster on RHEL 8 by setting quorum properties, starting and stopping cluster services, and verifying quorum status for an operational cluster.
Learn to install and configure Apache in a Linux high-availability cluster on RHEL 8 by installing packages, starting services, creating resources and groups, and validating cluster status across nodes.
What is Linux Cluster ?
High availability clusters provide highly available services by eliminating single points of failure and by failing over services from one cluster node to another in case a node becomes inoperative. Typically, services in a high availability cluster read and write data (by means of read-write mounted file systems). Therefore, a high availability cluster must maintain data integrity as one cluster node takes over control of a service from another cluster node. Node failures in a high availability cluster are not visible from clients outside the cluster. (High availability clusters are sometimes referred to as failover clusters.) high availability service management component, Pacemaker.
