
If all you think about are painful situations, all you will feel is the pain associated with the situations. This cycle has to be broken so that you are not stuck in the pain because of the repetitive thoughts. The painful memory isn't the problem, what you think about the painful memory is. This video is meant to shift your beliefs about the situations in your life, and challenge your assumptions about the emotions that you feel toward the problems. Where your mind goes your life will follow. Emotions are not facts. Your problems and fears have to be reinterpreted in light of how God addresses your life in the Bible. A simple thought technique is presented to show you how to interrupt your thoughts that are causing your depression and anxiety. You will be introduced to the mind body problem. The Bible addresses the mind body problem by assuming you have a soul. The soul is the immaterial part of you that relates to God. If you are focusing the efforts of your soul in the wrong way, it will create more problems for your life. You have an ability to change the way you use your soul so that it helps you deal with the stress of your life. The Bible makes it clear that we can choose to do things our way, the way we would prefer, or we can do things God's way. Directing the primary emphasis of your soul towards worship and ministry will help you re-calibrate your soul, instead of using your soul to try to solve the problems of your anxiety and depression. God's will for your life is explained and presented as a way to help you fix your soul. After going through this lesson you will be able to identify what the parts of the soul are and what your primary soul emphasis is.
This lesson has a brief medical description of the brain and how physical changes can be made in the brain to help you change your thinking patterns. You will learn how our music therapy is designed to create "ear worms". We use this approach to help you create new neural pathways in your brain so that you can interrupt your old patterns of thinking. If you are tired of the pain that you have been experiencing, you need to make changes in the way you think. If you don't make changes in the way you think, you will continue to look at your problems from the same perspective you always have. The solution to healing your tired brain is to deal with the pollution of your soul. The principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are introduced to help you deal with the pollution of your soul. You will learn to use these principles to give your brain a break while dealing with the pollution of your soul.
Many times in life it seems that our life problems and struggles are controlling us. This lesson helps you to see that there are actually spiritual forces that are trying to get you so discouraged that you will give up on God and your faith. What you will be taught is that God has given you the authority to rule over theses spiritual forces rather than them ruling over you. A big picture overview of the Bible is given to better help you understand what God expects of you as a Christian. Sorry, my cat Simba didn't make the final cut. My point was...he was eating, I made a noise and he turned his head real quick to see what the problem was. When he realized there wasn't a major problem, he went back to eating his food as if nothing even happened. This is how you should act as you pay attention to what you pay attention to. You have to deal with problems that really matter, and are in your control, but something you can't control is not what you should be paying attention to. When you recognize that what you are paying attention to is something you need to trust God for, you need to leave that thought behind and go on with your life. That is basically the way my cat lives. When there is a problem that he needs to take care of, he will deal with it. When it's not really something he needs to pay attention to, he forgets the situation and goes on with his life.
All of the previous lessons were pointing to this one. This lesson combines all the previous concepts to help yo learn how to ease the pain in your life. You will lean what stage you are at in your healing and how you need to respond to diminish the pain of your life right now. 1. You need to let go of your trouble because holing on is killing you. 2. OR you need to distract yourself from the pain by reading the Bible consistently to see what God says about your situation. 3. OR your situation is chronic and may never get better. If the this is true you need to learn to properly grieve this situation in your life. The pain will not diminish until you properly learn to grieve the situation.
I asked my wife to help me summarize the content of this class. She brings her examples of how her anxiety and depression was healed, and does it through a feminine perspective. She specifically focuses on living in the present, rather than on the past problems or what might come in the future.
There are many approaches to help people who struggle with anxiety and depression. This class is designed specifically for people who are sympathetic to Christianity. The primary tactic of the class is to help you change the way you think. Right thinking will lead to right living that is less stressful. You will be taught that the pain and discouragement you are experiencing are not the problem, it's how you interpret the trouble in your life that matters. You will be taught very specific steps to interrupt you anxiety and depression, so that you can reinterpret the problems of your life in the light of how God sees you. Once you realize it's not your job to carry all the trouble yourself, you will begin to feel relief. One of the techniques that is presented in the class is the use of our music therapy to help you begin the process of letting go of the situation and trusting that God will take care of you. When you are feeling overwhelmed you simply begin listening to the included 33 minute music therapy song (It's designed to be listened to as you are going to sleep...but you can listen to it any time.) The song is designed to use concepts in the Word of God, and implant the concepts in your mind through music to help you begin the process of changing the way you think about your situation. This song has many individual songs embedded within it. We have included all of the individual songs for you to listen to. Find the songs that speak to you and listen to them over and over. They are meant to be used to break up the repetitive negative thoughts that you are having. All of the included lessons are practical and actionable. They are all designed to draw you toward trusting God more than you ever have, while moving away from your emotional assessment of your problems. Emotions are not facts and cannot be trusted to be used to interpret our pain.
