Description
What is Helical Knitting?
Helical knitting is a technique for knitting stripes in the round without the need for carrying yarn behind the work. It sets up each colour to work as a distinct spiral of stitches. You can add stripes in two or more colours and have different thicknesses of stripe, all without having ugly uneven bits in your knitting where you have carried your yarns.
Why Helical Knitting?
Not only is it a way to add jogless stripes to your knits but it is also a great way to help avoid colour pooling when working with hand-dyed yarns! Plus you can add stripes to plain stocking stitch knits really easily!

Instructor
Hi lovelies, I'm Michelle and I am the founder of Knit School.
I have been knitting since I was 7 and in 2016, I opened The Loveliest Yarn Company, an online yarn store filled with yarns, accessories and patterns that I loved and wanted to share with the knitting community.
Fast forward to 2018 and I knew I was going to have to do something to help all of the knitters I met at shows who didn't feel confident to try new techniques and who also felt overwhelmed by all the content, books and such that are out there.
And so the idea of Knit School was born. We launched in June 2020 and now have a community of over 200 knitters, an ever growing selection of patterns and masterclasses and 3 weekly virtual Knit & Natters (it escalated quickly).
I am on a mission to inspire knitters and give them the tools, patterns and techniques so that they can get more joy out of their knitting!
