In this section you will be shown parts of the air handler and how to troubleshoot it. Certain parts may be available for purchase from large online retailers if you look around saving you from having to call out a contractor. Part numbers should be on the parts. Remember when ordering parts to order the same style part or switch. If your having a hard time finding the correct part you may have to call out a contractor. If you have an older unit parts may be obsolete.

In this section I go over how the furnace fires up and some things to look for when its not working properly.

In this section I go over the condenser. The contactor and capacitor typically last 5 to 7 years. These parts are easily found online. Remember when replacing parts to always have the breaker turned off and any other power disconnects turned off . Fan motors may also be found online.

A normal capacitor will only have two terminals on top, when you have this style it only goes to one motor( for example the air handler fan motor will have a single tap style). When you take a  micro farad reading with your volt meter/dvom it is only going to give you one answer. You may have a "double tap" capacitor which will have 3 terminals. It will supply the compressor and outdoor fan motor. For the compressor reading you will measure from c to herm and for the fan you will read c to fan. Those will be stamped on top of the capacitor.
