COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Healing-The Shaman’s Way is a twelve-module course providing basic information about shamanism and shamanic healing. Included are the controversies surrounding shamanism, the shamanic worldview. Specific tools such as flutes, drums, and rattles as healers receive major attention as do the dowsing rod, the pendulum, auras, raw eggs, and the scrying mirror as diagnostic tools: The function of herbs and what some of them are used for, (creating a foot soak) essential oils, how they are created, and which ones you do not drink or apply directly to the skin, and crystals as healing tools. Not all crystals are safe; some are poisonous. Self-healing techniques include the use of herbal teas, elixirs, soups, and other drinks. Shamanic Journeying and Astral Projection are contrasted with the purpose of each explained. The use of hallucinogenics and sound in producing an Altered State of Consciousness and the use of such a state to travel to different Realms is connected to healing. How to acquire Spirit Guides and Spirit Animals and their function as helpers and protectors. Soul loss and its shamanic retrieval shed light on one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Finally, the ways one becomes a shaman, that shamanism is not an alternative to contemporary medical practices.

Instructor
Norman Wilson began his training in natural healing at age 7. His teacher was a MiqMaq healer. For ten years from early spring to the first of September, he spent his time in the Baskatong Reserve, Quebec being quietly trained by Elisapie. He is not a Native American nor a First Nation person of Canada. Wilson has two doctorates: one in the humanities; and the other in metaphysical humanism. He is a retired college professor and a cognitive-behavioral therapist. Additionally, Dr. Wilson is the author of hundreds of articles on the Internet, over 25 books, and instructional videos. He is a Reiki Master and holds certifications in Crystal Healing, Herbs, and essential oils.
