Description

In this course, learners will be introduced to the concepts of hazards and risks at pre-construction, construction and post-construction stages of projects. Hazard classes are discussed along with the hazard communication programme, methods of labeling of hazards and their control measures. Risk quantification is discussed with the help of risk matrix. Various examples and case studies from building and construction industry  for hazard identification, hazard control and risk assessment are included in this course for better understanding of the concepts. Safety practices are discussed in accordance with international safety standards. Detailed analysis of research material is included to enable the learners to conduct the hazard identification and risk assessment of their projects on their own. Downloadable material in the form of reference book for preparation of NEBOSH examination, research paper, OSHA standards' links, safety activity links, formats, OSHA pocket guide, manual, templates, safety data sheet, etc. is provided so that the learners can refer to and use them for their own working

This course is designed on the guidelines of safety standards like OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, NIOSH, N/SVQ.

This course is an advance level course and is divided into two modules; 1) hazard identification, 2) risk assessment.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

- Identify the hazardous activities
