Students will learn and identify Hard and Soft skills that are listed as part of requirements and qualifications in a Job description.
Students will be able to identify, write down, and discuss Hard and Soft skills that they found in a Job description.
Students will be able to read, identify, and learn about Hard and Soft skills that are listed as requirements, and qualifications in a Job Ad for a Waiter and Waitress.
Students will be able to know the Hard and Soft skills that are listed as duties, requirements, and qualifications in a Job Ad and understand the importance of these skills when they apply for jobs in the future.
This Course is designed for students who have completed ESL classes for Beginners in Reading and Writing. It is for students to have a basic understanding of what Hard and Soft skills are, with examples. Students will learn how to read, and identify these skills by looking through some Job Descriptions of Job titles that people usually apply for as first jobs, and/or to supplement incomes.
Students will complete assignments by reading through the Job Ad section in a Newspaper, cut them out or go to Job websites to search through Job Ads and print them out and use them to complete Homework Assignments. Students are expected to attend all Classes, participate in discussion, activities, complete homework assignments, quizzes, and a final exam.

At the completion of this course, students will know what Hard and Soft skills are, examples of these skills, how to identify these skills when they read a Job description of a Job that they find either in a Newspaper or an Online Job website. They will understand the importance of having these skills to meet the requirements and qualifications that are needed for a particular job.
