First off, let's get one thing straight - happiness isn't something that you can just talk about and hope it comes to you magically. You need to actively seek it out, experience it and track it to make sure you're actually making progress. That's why it's important to define and measure happiness, just like you would with anything else that you're trying to achieve.
So, let's start with the basics. Imagine a unit of measurement for happiness. It doesn't have to be scientific, just something that you can use to track your progress. I like to call this Happiness Unit, Ananda Unit of Measurement (AUM in short) for short. Figure out how many AUMs you're looking for and keep that number in mind or write it down somewhere.
Next, think about how long you want to hold on to those HUs. Is it just for a few seconds or minutes, or do you want to feel happy all day, every day, forever? And where do you want to be happy? It's important to recognize that waiting for some specific time or place to become happy can be a miserable thought.
Now, here's the kicker - you can't just talk about happiness, you need to take action. Happiness should be the driver of all your actions, whether you're consciously aware of it or not. That's why it's important to start taking control of your life and happiness right here, right now.
So, let's get started on the pursuit of happiness!
Let's begin talking about what's driving us crazy-busy into action.
Do you ever feel like you're trapped in a never-ending cycle of activities and responsibilities?
You're not alone. Most people are constantly engaged in a wide range of tasks and events, each with their own purpose and intention.
But have you ever stopped to ask yourself: what's the motive behind all these actions?
Well, according to Vedantic thoughts, the answer is quite simple: the pursuit of happiness.
Whether we're consciously aware of it or not, every action we take is ultimately driven by our desire for happiness.
In fact, this is a common motivation that drives us all.
And this isn't just limited to humans - all living creatures instinctively seek pleasure and avoid pain.
From the lowest forms of microscopic creatures to human beings, every living creature instinctively avoids pain and seeks pleasure.
As such, the Taitriya Upanishad goes as far as to identify the highest reality, Brahman, with the state of blissful happiness. And who wouldn't want to experience that infinite unlimited, inexhaustible Ananda?
So, let's take a moment to reflect on our own actions and motivations.
Are we consciously seeking happiness, or are we simply going through the motions of daily life?
It's time to take control and make a positive and intentional effort towards realizing our happiness.
We all deserve to live a life full of positive experiences and joy, and it's up to us to make it happen.
So let's make our purpose the pursuit of happiness, and let's make it the driving force behind everything we do.
Let's start now!
Are you tired of constantly pursuing happiness only for it to slip through your fingers?
It's a common experience for most of us to search for some form of happiness, but why does it always seem to be out of reach?
Do you find that despite all your efforts, you're still left feeling unfulfilled and unsatisfied?
It's no secret that the "pursuit of happiness" can be a challenging and elusive journey, but have you considered the natural factors that may be blocking and hindering your goals of achieving happiness?
The answer lies in the limiting nature of our phenomenal existence.
There are three natural factors that block our path to happiness: ignorance, infirmity, and inadequacy.
The first and most significant obstacle is our IGNORANCE.
Whether it's ignorance of your own mind, or uncertainty about the future, this lack of understanding can prevent you from achieving true happiness.
Our ignorance, whether it be about the workings of our own minds or uncertainty about the future, hinders our ability to find happiness.
Additionally, our infirmities and inherent limitations of the body, senses, and mind can hold us back from experiencing all that life has to offer.
Our infirmities, such as the limitations of our body, senses, and mind, also restrict our ability to achieve lasting happiness.
And, Finally, inadequacy and scarcity of the objects of enjoyment can leave you feeling unfulfilled and unable to satisfy your desires.
These inherent limitations of our existence may seem like an insurmountable challenge but don't despair.
Recognizing these obstacles is the first step towards overcoming them.
By learning more about ourselves and our surroundings, we can break through the ignorance barrier.
Engaging in practices that strengthen our mind and body can help overcome our infirmity.
And by reevaluating our desires and expectations, we can learn to find joy and contentment in what we already have, rather than constantly seeking more that’s not.
So, let's not give up on our quest for happiness but instead approach it with a renewed vigor and fresh perspective.
By acknowledging and working through the limiting gates, we can find a more fulfilling and meaningful experience of happiness in our lives.
It's important to recognize these barriers and work towards overcoming them, as they can limit the happiness we experience in our lives.
By understanding and addressing these factors, you can take positive steps towards achieving lasting happiness and fulfillment.
Don't let these impediments stand in the way of your happiness – take action today to break through the limiting gates and live your best life.
Are your unfulfilled desires causing you sorrow?
It's a common experience to seek external means to pursue happiness, only to find that they are inadequate.
If so, you're not alone. The pursuit of happiness can often feel like an endless and fruitless endeavor.
This realization often leads people to turn to supernatural means and seek intervention from a personal God.
But what if there was another way?
What if we looked within ourselves instead of seeking outside solutions?
In India, ancient sages did just that.
They embarked on a journey of self-discovery, seeking answers to life's deepest questions and the true nature of the Self.
These Indian sages recognized that the answer to the problem of sorrow lay in an inquiry into the mystery of life and the true nature of the Self.
----
Through deep reflection and direct-experience, Indian sages discovered important truths about existence, consciousness, and happiness. To make these truths more accessible, these were codified by Swami Bhajananda-ji as laws for the sake of clarity and brevity. Which were first published in the journal 'Prabuddha Bharata' founded by Swami Vivekananda.
Don't worry; these laws aren't rigid or prescriptive. They simply offer a framework for organizing and understanding these profound ideas. And they can be a powerful tool for finding clarity and fulfillment in your life as a vehicle for organizing deep ideas according to certain patterns of human experience.
These laws are not meant to imply a rigid causal relationship but rather provide a great framework for the lucid ordering of deep ideas.
----
One important truth that the sages discovered is that unfulfilled desires give rise to sorrow. It's easy to get caught up in pursuing external means of happiness, but ultimately, they are inadequate.
Instead, we can turn inward and reflect on the true nature of our desires and what brings us lasting fulfillment.
By understanding and following the laws of happiness, we can achieve true and lasting happiness that transcends the limitations of external means.
So, let's start the journey towards for true happiness by reflecting on our desires and turning inward to discover the truths of existence, consciousness, and happiness.
If you're ready to uncover the laws of happiness and discover the true nature of the self, then stay tuned.
----
In the following section, we'll dive deeper into these laws and explore how they can transform your life.
Don't let unfulfilled desires continue to cause you sorrow.
Take action and discover the path to lasting happiness.
Are you ready to stop chasing external limited means and start looking within, join us on this journey of Self-discovery.
Let's explore the laws of happiness together and discover the true source of lasting joy and fulfillment.
Rivers are fascinating natural wonders that we can see on the ground. But did you know that there is more to them than meets the eye?
Sure, there's the water that flows down the channel, but there's also an unseen force that drives the river's flow. This force is made up of water vapors carried by the sun and wind from the ocean to the mountaintops. These vapors then turn into rain, which flows back into the riverbed.
Just like how water vapors form an invisible river that carries moisture from the ocean to the mountain tops, our lives also have an invisible dimension.
Our actions and thoughts, just like the vapor, move in cycles and are powered by an infinite force emanating from the divine core. This force drives the rhythm of our lives that has been going on since time immemorial. We must remember that our lives are more than just what's visible on the surface. We must tap into the power of the divine-core to find meaning, purpose, and happiness in life.
Similar to the river's water cycle, there is an invisible dimension that makes up the river of life. Our lives are like a river, with visible and invisible movements that occur in cycles. All of this is powered by an inexhaustible force that radiates from the divine center, keeping up the rhythm of life that has been going on since the beginning of time. It's important to acknowledge and appreciate both the visible and invisible dimensions of life, as they work together to create the beautiful and complex tapestry of our existence.
Now that you have come so far, let's take a deep dive into the fascinating STRUCTURE OF HUMAN PERSONALITY & CONSCIOUSNESS-LEVELS to explore in more detail. Shall we?
By understanding the structure of human personality and consciousness levels, we can deepen our understanding of ourselves and tap into the source of pure, unconditioned, unlimited happiness that lies within us all. So let's dive deep into this fascinating topic and unlock the full potential of our consciousness!
To understand the key levels of human consciousness, we need to first get a handle on the intricate model or structure of human personality.
According to the model described in Taitriya Upanishad, the human personality is made up of five koshas, which are similar to protective casings or chambers, like an astronaut's spacesuit using a very crude analogy. These koshas are:
The annamaya kosha (अन्नमय कोश) - the physical casing.
The pranamaya kosha (प्राणमय कोश) - the vital casing that holds and sustains life.
The manomaya kosha (मनोमय कोश) - the mental casing.
The vigyanamaya kosha (विज्ञानमय कोश) - the casing of intuition or higher consciousness.
The anandamaya kosha (आनन्दमय कोश) - the casing of pure bliss or unconditioned happiness.
According to Vedanta, the Ultimate Reality or Brahman (ब्रह्म) is of the nature of ABSOLUTE Existence-Consciousness-Bliss or Sat-Chit-Ananda (सच्चिदानन्द), and the TRUE SELF of the individual person is IDENTICAL with Brahman (ब्रह्म) - the Sat-Chit-Ananda (सच्चिदाननन्द).
The filter of casings or koshas (कोश) is crucial in this model. Each kosha represents a 'plane of existence and consciousness' through which the supreme bliss of Brahman - the Sat-Chit-Ananda (सच्चिदाननन्द) - filters down, giving rise to the joy of experience appropriate to each kosha.
Again using another crude analogy, think of it like a graphic equalizer in audio equipment or polarizing filters for camera lenses. Each filter allows a specific frequency or type of light to pass through, creating a unique experience. Similarly, each kosha allows a specific type of experience, leading to a more profound understanding of our consciousness and, ultimately, shining our True Nature.
Isn't it amazing to think about the intricate structure of our personality and consciousness? And to know that we are all connected to the same Ultimate Reality or Brahman? So let's take some time to explore and understand our koshas, and discover the joy and bliss that comes from connecting with our True Self.
Let's take a closer look at the levels of consciousness and how they shape our personalities and drive our temperament.
Again, according to the Taitriya Upanishad, there are five koshas or casings that make up human personality. These casings are like protective chambers.
with the physical casing being the annamaya kosha, and the vital casing that holds and sustains life being the pranamaya kosha. The mental casing is the manomaya kosha, while the casing of intuition or higher consciousness is the vigyanamaya kosha. Finally, the casing of pure bliss or unconditioned happiness is the anandamaya kosha.
Your identification with each casing determines your character and temperament.
If you're a gross-sensualist, your 'I'-consciousness is wholly identified with the first two casings:
the annamaya kosha (अन्नमय कोश) - the physical casing
the pranamaya kosha (प्राणमय कोश) - the vital casing that hold & sustain life
Thus, a gross-sensualist’s happiness is driven by sense-pleasure derived from external objects.
For the intellectual man, the 'I'-consciousness is mostly identified with the mental casing (मनोमय कोश).
However, the spiritual journey begins when one consciously tries to shift their center of consciousness, or shift the identification of "I," to the level of the fourth kosha, the vigyanamaya kosha (विज्ञानमय कोश), which represents intuition or higher consciousness.
The spiritual man consciously tries to shift their center of consciousness to the level of intuition or higher-consciousness, the vigyanamaya kosha (विज्ञानमय कोश)
It's important to note that experiences from each casing or kosha ( कोश) are not lost but recorded in it as latent impressions called samskaras (संस्कार). These impressions influence our behavior and give rise to a great variety of human temperaments and personal experiences and corresponding variations in personal experiences including happiness.
With multiple levels of consciousness, human life may seem complex, and each individual appears to live in several worlds within worlds with each kosha consisting of several sub-levels or layers.
But, by understanding the different levels of consciousness and consciously choosing to identify with the higher ones, we can experience pure bliss and unconditioned happiness.
But it's only when we consciously try to shift our center of consciousness to the level of intuition, vigyanamaya kosha (विज्ञानमय कोश) or higher-consciousness that spiritual life begins. By doing so, we can experience the supreme-bliss of Brahman and find true happiness that's not dependent on external objects. So let's aim to shift our center of consciousness and find pure bliss within ourselves!
It's only by recognizing and understanding these different dimensions of our being that we can truly achieve mental health and happiness.
The Taitriya Upanishad also discusses the concept of five levels of cosmic existence, which correspond to the five main koshas or casings in the microcosm (samasti समष्टि) and the macrocosm (vyasti व्यष्टि).
These levels are believed to be built on the same pattern, according to Vedanta.
Each level can be seen as a vast, invisible orbit around the cosmic divine-center, and within these orbits, individual consciousness moves and encounters different objects, resulting in diverse personal experiences. Moreover, each orbit can be further broken down into sub-orbits or sub-levels, corresponding to the subdivisions of the koshas.
The Taitriya Upanishad talks about the five levels of cosmic existence, which correspond to the five main casings or koshas. The Vedanta philosophy believes that the microcosm and macrocosm are built on the same pattern.

Each cosmic level can be thought of as a vast, invisible orbit around the cosmic divine center. As an individual consciousness moves along this orbit, it encounters different objects and experiences varying types of personal experiences. Each orbit also has several sub-levels, corresponding to the subdivisions of the koshas.
But here's the kicker - the FIRST LAW OF HAPPINESS states that there is a definite and fixed degree of happiness associated with each level and sub-level. In other words, our level of happiness is not entirely dependent on external factors, but it is predetermined by the level of consciousness we are on. So, we must understand which level we are currently operating on and strive to achieve higher levels to experience greater happiness.
++++
Remember, we have the power to shape our own happiness by understanding and working with the cosmic levels of existence. Let's embrace this knowledge and take action to live a fulfilling life.
In the next section, let's dive deeper into the Second Law of Happiness and explore how we can use it to our advantage.
Let's talk about the Second Law of Happiness, which is a crucial concept for understanding mental health and well-being.
2nd law states that: “the level of happiness associated with each level or sub-level of consciousness is independent of external events.”
So, our level of happiness remains constant regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in.
In other words, no matter what happens in our lives, as long as we remain at a certain level of consciousness, we can only experience the degree of happiness natural to that level.
Remember that no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, or what work you do, you'll only experience the degree of happiness natural to that level of consciousness.
Sure, the objects you encounter, and experiences you have may differ, but the degree of happiness you feel remains constant.
Think about it: when you're hungry, does the type of food you eat really affect the happiness you feel after eating? Whether you indulge in Indian curries, western-style dinners, or Chinese cuisine, the degree of happiness resulting from the satisfaction of hunger is the same in each case. This idea is just one example of the many constants and discontinuities that exist within the universe we live in, including the degree of happiness associated with each level of consciousness.
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our happiness depends on external factors, such as the type of work we do or the amount of wealth we have. However, this is a great delusion that we as human beings cherish.
It's crucial to recognize that this principle applies to everyone, regardless of their profession. Can we really say that a doctor handling blood and pus is happier than a farmer plowing the land? Or that a businessperson rushing around with a bulging briefcase is happier than an elementary school teacher? Of course not !!
Each person experiences the same degree of happiness at their particular level of consciousness, regardless of their work.
The truth is that as long as we remain at a certain level of consciousness, we can only experience the specific degree of happiness associated with that level, no matter what work we do.
Once you understand this truth, you'll stop grumbling about your job, complaining about others, and feeling envious of those around you. You'll experience mental peace and find joy in the work you do, not just in the results it produces.
So, whether we're doctors, engineers, office clerks, farmers, or students, as long as we remain at a particular level of consciousness, we can only experience the same degree of happiness, regardless of the type of work we do.
Understanding this principle is the basis of Karma Yoga, a path to mental peace and well-being. When we stop grumbling about our work and complaining about others, we can tap into the happiness that is already within us.
This principle is the foundation of Karma Yoga and it's a crucial key to unlocking happiness in our lives.
It means that work does not create happiness; it only brings out the happiness that is already within us.
The degree of happiness that is awakened through our work has nothing to do with the type of work we do.
When we understand this truth, we can stop complaining about our work and others', and competition and jealousy disappear from our minds. This realization can bring us peace of mind and allow us to enjoy our work for the joy of doing it, not just for the sake of earning money.
Work does not create happiness, but it can bring it out if we approach it with the right mindset.
This realization can transform a student from studying only to pass exams or secure a job to studying for the joy of knowledge. It can also help a doctor, an engineer, or a businessperson find joy in their work beyond just earning money.
In his lectures on Karma Yoga, Swami Vivekananda said, "Each is great in his own place." This principle highlights the importance of understanding the Second Law of Happiness.
And it's true – you can be great at whatever you do, whether you're a doctor, engineer, office clerk, farmer, or student. The key is to find joy in the work itself, not just the outcome.
When we realize that the degree of happiness associated with each level or sublevel of consciousness is independent of external events, we can become better students, doctors, engineers, businessmen, or whatever our chosen profession may be.
By recognizing that the level of happiness associated with each level of consciousness is independent of external events, we can find peace and fulfillment in our lives, regardless of our circumstances.
So remember, happiness is not something external that you can acquire through work or wealth. It's an internal state that you can tap into at any time by understanding and embracing the Second Law of Happiness.
Hey there! Let's continue our talk about mental health and happiness.
We all want to be happy, right? But sometimes we feel like we're not quite there yet, like there are obstacles or barriers holding us back.
Now, you might be thinking, "Wait a minute, if happiness is independent of external events, why do we need to do anything at all?"
Great question. The answer is that work is necessary to remove the obstacles to happiness. The secret lies in removing the obstacles or barriers that stand between us and our innate joy.
Well, here's some good news: the 3rd law of happiness tells us that: "EFFORT is needed only to remove the hurdles to happiness."
-WORK is necessary to remove the barriers to happiness. We only need to put in the effort to remove those obstacles or barriers to achieve true happiness.
It's like dipping a bucket into a well or a river to fetch water - the water is always there, but we need to make the effort to overcome the obstacle of gravity.
Similarly, there's a constant flow of joy within us, but we have to put in effort to overcome the obstacles that stand in our way of accessing & experiencing that joy.
But what exactly are these obstacles or barriers? They can take many forms, such as negative emotions like greed, hatred, anger, jealousy, and vanity, all stemming from egoism or selfishness. These are rooted in egoism or selfishness, which can cloud our judgment and prevent us from seeing the true joy that lies beneath.
So, what can we do about it?
The best way to break down these barriers is by serving others and working for the greater good. By focusing our efforts on helping those around us, we can start to dissolve our own selfish tendencies and uncover the bliss within us.
In short, the key to mental health and happiness is not about achieving more external riches and success but rather about removing the barriers that stand between us and our innate joy. By putting in the effort to work on ourselves and serve others, we can start to uncover the true happiness that lies within us. So let's get to work!
To truly uncover the happiness within, we need to break down those barriers propped up by our toxic emotional drives. This can be done by working for others and serving our fellow humans without expecting anything in return.
A selfless service in the spirit of Seva / Sadhana - which is a spiritual quest indeed.
So don't be discouraged if you feel like you're not quite as happy as you'd like to be.
Remember that selfless-service is not burdensome work, but a necessary aid to spiritual progress. By putting in the effort to remove those barriers to happiness, we can liberate the bliss within ourselves and achieve true happiness. Let's get to work!
Hey there! Let's talk about work and its role in our lives when it comes to happiness and mental health.
Have you ever felt that urge to create something? That fire that burns inside of you, pushing you to turn your ideas into reality? Well, that's what we call the creative urge, and it's present in every single one of us.
We all have a creative urge inside us that needs to be expressed, and work is the best way to do it.
You see, there's a cosmic energy that flows through all of us, triggering and rousing our samskars (संस्कार) which are the latent impressions of our past actions and experiences, and these rousing series of samskars compel us to to do work.
Now, here's the thing: expressing that creative urge through work is essential. Why? Because this urge allows us to tap into the cosmic energy that flows through us.
But here's the key thing to remember: this energy can't be stopped, so we must direct it through creative work into the higher spiritual channels!
WORK thus becomes an intrinsic necessity of our phenomenal existence. That's why work is so important to us as it's intrinsic to our very being.
Of course, there are times when we wish we could live without work, just sit back and relax. But that's only possible when we've managed to break free from all selfishness and redirect that cosmic energy into higher spiritual channels constantly. Only then can we live an exclusively contemplative life. But let's be real, that's not easy for most of us.
So, how can we use work to express our creative urge and channel that cosmic energy towards spiritual growth?
It's possible by finding work that aligns with our values and purpose, and that allows us to express our unique talents and abilities. When we do work that's meaningful to us, we not only feel fulfilled, but we also make a positive impact on the world.
Of course, there will always be obstacles and challenges in our way, but that's where the third law of happiness comes in - we need to put in effort to remove those hurdles to happiness.
So, if you want to experience true happiness and improve your mental health, remember that work is not just a means to an end. It's a way to tap into your creative potential and unleash the power that lies within you. Don't be afraid to put in the effort and remove the barriers to happiness. Trust me, and it's worth it!
And when we do, we'll find that work is not just a means to an end, but an important aid to our spiritual progress.
So, let's embrace our creative urge, channel that cosmic energy, and find work that brings us joy and fulfillment while making a positive impact on the world!
Let's dive into the 4th Law of Happiness, which states that:
"every human being has an inherent urge to seek higher forms of happiness."
It's like an inbuilt compass guiding us toward a higher state of existence and a greater sense of fulfillment, and it's something that's ingrained in all of us. As Acharya Shankara puts it in his commentary on the Katha Upanishad, "Everyone aspires for the higher and the still higher."
We all have a natural urge to move up from a lower state of existence to a higher one, driven by our thirst for greater happiness.
This urge is especially pronounced in spiritual people, but it exists in everyone to some extent, even if it's eclipsed or influenced by negative emotions.
In fact, every human being has an inherent drive to seek higher forms of happiness, whether it's through the pursuit of truth, goodness, beauty, or liberation known as Mukti.
This urge is what sets us apart from animals and propels us towards philosophy, social service, art, and religion. We are driven to seek truth, goodness, beauty, and ultimately liberation or Mukti.
It's the search for meaning or value fulfillment that lies at the foundation of our psychological and evolutionary growth.
This urge is at the very foundation of philosophy, social service, art, and religion, and it's what distinguishes us from animals. It's the teleological urge to transcend the limitations of biological existence and even the limitations of the rational mind.
Swami Vivekananda called this religion, and he proclaimed that: "every person is potentially divine." Each person has the potential to attain spiritual illumination and the supreme happiness that comes with it.
This quest for higher forms of happiness corresponds to our hierarchy of needs. Just as we have physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, we also have a need for spiritual fulfillment.
It's up to us to listen to that inner voice and seek out the sources of happiness that resonate with our deepest selves.
As humans, we have a hierarchy of needs, and our pursuit of happiness takes different forms at different stages of our lives. And, correspondingly, there exist different types of happiness. At the top of this hierarchy is spiritual illumination and the supreme happiness that results from it.
But the most important thing is to recognize that we all have the capacity and the urge to seek out higher forms of happiness. So let's embrace that urge, let's seek out the things that truly make us happy, and let's strive to live a life that's rich and fulfilling.
Therefore, let us embrace this teleological urge to transcend the limitations of our biological existence and rational mind. Let us strive to seek higher forms of happiness by pursuing truth, goodness, beauty, and spiritual illumination. This pursuit will bring us closer to realizing our full potential and achieving true happiness in our lives and helps us evolve into our best selves.
FOUR TYPES / GRADES OF HAPPINESS
Let's continue to talk about happiness, shall we?
So, what are the different types of happiness, because not all happiness is created equal.
The Hindu Knowledge-tradition classifies happiness into four four main grades, each with its own unique characteristics where each level offers a different experience. And they're all worth understanding.
1.*The lowest grade is vishayasukham (विषयसुख) - which refers to sense-pleasures.
This type of happiness is short-lived and invariably a discontinuous experience!!
It’s ultimately unsatisfying because our senses quickly become satiated and bored.
In our quest for new sensations, we're constantly seeking out diverse experiences, but this only leads to more craving and dissatisfaction.
This is why we're constantly seeking a diversity of sense-experience to overcome its inherent defect.
In fact, the more we indulge in sensory experiences, the more dissatisfied we become. We're always searching for new ways to satisfy our senses.
2.*The second grade of happiness is shamsukham (शमसुख): the joy of self-control'. -
This is the joy that comes from self-control, from being able to resist the pull of our senses.
It's a deeper, more lasting happiness, because it doesn't depend on external things.
When we practice self-control, we find a sense of peace that's not easily disturbed.
So it's a more continuous and long-lasting experience as this type of happiness isn't dependent on external objects or the activity of our senses.
When we have control over our senses, we can experience a kind of pure delight that's undisturbed by our thoughts or external factors.
Even devotion to the divine can fall under this category of shamsukham, and is a powerful way to turn the mind away from the constant pull of senses and attraction of sense objects.
3.*Still higher than this is the third type of Happiness known as atmasukham (आत्मसुख) - which is the the pure joy of Higher Self in its natural state.
This type of happiness cannot be obtained through a moral life or conventional devotional exercises.
It's the result of real spiritual awakening and is the first genuine spiritual experience that a spiritual aspirant can achieve after years of intense struggles.
When we experience atmasukham, we directly perceive the pure radiance of our higher Self in the depths of our hearts-space or Hridayakaash (हृदयाकाश) I
It’s the deep understanding & realization of our true nature as spiritual beings.
This experience detaches us forever from the illusory joys of the senses and brings great fulfillment to our individual consciousness.
And it is the first genuine spiritual experience that a sincere spiritual aspirant gets!
4.*Finally, Hindu-knowledge tradition speaks of a still higher degree of happiness called Brahmanand (ब्रह्मानन्द) - and it's the highest form of happiness there is.
It’s the joy which is the result of communion with the Supreme-Consciousness or Brahman (ब्रह्म).
This kind of happiness comes from a direct connection with the Supreme Consciousness or Brahman.
When we experience this level of happiness, we realize that all the other forms of happiness were just leading us to this ultimate goal.
It's a boundless, everlasting happiness that satisfies us completely.
The Chandogya Upanishad (छान्दोग्योपनिषद) says, "That which is INFINITE (Brahman) is alone TRUE HAPPINESS. There is NO happiness in anything FINITE or alpa (अल्प)."
Until we experience this supreme bliss, we can never remain satisfied in life and will always continue to struggle for its attainment.
When the individual-consciousness realizes the intimate-ultimate reality and experiences boundless bliss, man's insatiable and seemingly endless quest for happiness ends.
This is the ultimate realization of our intimate and ultimate reality, and it brings boundless bliss.
When our individual consciousness realizes the ultimate reality and experiences infinite, boundless bliss, our insatiable quest for happiness ends.
It's an everlasting bliss that can't be found in anything finite.
Until we experience this supreme bliss, we'll never be truly satisfied in life.
But the good news is that this insatiable and seemingly endless quest for happiness can end when we finally attain it.
And when we do, we'll be filled with measureless and everlasting bliss that will inspire us to keep moving forward, no matter what struggles we may face along the way.
So remember, not all happiness is created equal.
If you want to experience the highest form of happiness, you need to go beyond satisfying your senses or even practicing self-control.
You need to tap into your spiritual nature and connect with the Supreme Consciousness. That's where true happiness lies.
"In order to GET higher degrees of Happiness, one has to bring about the corresponding *CHANGE* in one's *CONSCIOUSNESS*".
Hey there! Let's talk about the fifth law of happiness, which is all about shifting to a higher consciousness in order to experience higher degrees of happiness.
It's a pretty simple concept, really - if you want to feel happier, you have to TRANSFORM your consciousness.
What does that mean? Well, it means that in order to experience higher degrees of happiness, we need to bring about a corresponding SHIFT in our consciousness.
You see, each level of consciousness has its own fixed degree of happiness, independent of external events.
So, if we want to experience higher forms of happiness, like different grades of spiritual bliss, we can't just expect to make a quantum leap and get there overnight.
We need to transform our consciousness first.
Our normal consciousness is limited by the physical world we perceive through our senses.
We can't see or experience anything beyond what our senses allow.
So, if we want to unlock the realities of higher planes of existence and the true spiritual joys that come with them, we need to transform our consciousness.
Now, you might be wondering what we mean by "consciousness."
Basically, it's the way we perceive and experience the world around us.
Each level of consciousness has its own fixed degree of happiness, and this is independent of external events.
So, if you want to experience higher forms of happiness - the kind associated with spiritual bliss - you have to transform your consciousness.
This might sound a little daunting, but it's actually a really exciting prospect.
By transforming your own consciousness, you can tap into the realities of higher planes of existence and experience the spiritual joys that come with them.
The only way to do this is by TRANSFORMATION of your CONSCIOUSNESS or "chit" (चित).
The Mandukya Upanishad (माण्डूक्योपनिषद) describes the Self of man as having four dimensions.
1.*The lowest is the vaisvanara (वैश्वानर) or the sense bound-ego which animates the gross physical body (sthula-sharira स्थूलशरीर).
2.*Higher than this is the taijasa (तैजस) , which, dwelling in the vigyanmaya kosha supports the subtle body (sukshma-sharira सूक्ष्मशरीर).
3.*Still higher is the prajna (प्रज्ञा), which is identical with the causal body (karana-sharira कारणशरीर)
4.*In the last and highest dimension of the self the distinction between the individual and the cosmic is lost.
So, what does all this mean for you?
It means that if you want to experience higher levels of happiness, you need to focus on shifting your consciousness.
This isn't something that can happen overnight - it requires a transformation of your entire being.
But the rewards are well worth the effort.
By unlocking these higher states of consciousness, you can experience a level of happiness and spiritual bliss that you may never have thought possible.
So, start exploring ways to TRANSFORM OUR CONSCIOUSNESS today!
Are you ready to take a journey toward higher levels of happiness?
If so, then we must start climbing the staircase of Self-awareness and consciousness.
As we ascend, we will experience a transformation that expands our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
Imagine happiness as a staircase, and each step represents a higher form of happiness.
If you want to reach the top, you must climb the staircase by undergoing progressive transformation of consciousness.
At the lower levels of the Self, we see Existence, Consciousness, and Happiness as separate entities, but as we continue to climb, we find that these three categories meet and merge into an undivided, infinite, and ultimate reality - Sachidananda (सच्चिदानन्द).
It is in this state that our 'I'-Consciousness is fully merged, and we become happiness embodied.
As you climb the staircase, you'll notice that existence, consciousness, and happiness are no longer separate categories. Instead, they merge into one undivided, infinite, and ultimate reality known as Sachidananda (सच्चिदानन्द). And guess what? You are part of it! You are happiness embodied!
Unfortunately, our true nature is often masked by ignorance and the limitations of our body, mind, and senses.
We feel SEPERATED from the BOUNDLESS OCEAN of Sachidananda (सच्चिदानन्द) of which we are PARTS (ansha अंश) - and which is the root cause of our unhappiness.
But, one day, we'll realize that all life is one, and that existence is itself bliss!
We must recognize that happiness is a natural state of our being and that it is obscured by the limiting adjuncts of our physical bodies, minds, and senses. However, we are parts of the boundless ocean of Sachidananda, and it is only our ignorance that separates us from it.
The Self, as described in the Mandukya Upanishad, has four dimensions.
The lowest is the sense-bound ego, which animates the physical body.
Higher than that is the taijasa, which supports the subtle body.
Above that is the prajna, which is identical with the causal body.
And in the highest dimension of the Self, the individual and the cosmic merge into one undivided, infinite, ultimate reality known as Sachidananda.
So if you want higher forms of happiness, you need to go up this staircase of consciousness.
As you undergo progressive transformation, you'll find that existence, consciousness, and happiness merge into one.
You'll realize that happiness is an inseparable aspect of your real nature.
It's a natural state of your being that's masked by ignorance and the limitations of the body, mind, and senses.
But here's the thing: you are happiness embodied.
You're a part of the boundless ocean of Sachidananda.
Someday, you'll realize that all life is one and that existence itself is bliss.
So keep striving for your highest aspirations, and know that the key to happiness lies within you.
So, my friend, I encourage you to climb the staircase of happiness and realize your highest aspirations. May you discover the boundless joy that's waiting for you at the top!
So, let's embark on this journey to realize our highest aspirations and unlock the happiness that is our birthright.
Remember, existence is itself bliss, and it is time for us to experience it fully.
Here's the amazing part: happiness is an inseparable aspect of our real nature. It's a natural state of our being that's always with us.
One day, we'll realize that all life is one and that existence itself is bliss.
That's right, YOU are happiness embodied, and it's just waiting for you to tap into it.
So, go ahead and reach for your highest aspirations! You've got this!
