Description
In this supplemental follow-up to my Introduction to Gypsy Jazz Guitar course, we will learn the chords for three songs typical of the La Pompe style of accompaniment (also known as "comping"). In learning the basics of these chord changes, we will discuss rudimentary song structure, Gypsy Jazz chord voicings, and I will also show you how to efficiently learn and get comfortable with new chord changes. You will be able to sit in at a jam and comp in no time!
Gypsy Jazz is swing music inspired by the legendary guitar virtuoso Django Reinhardt (1910-1953). Active mostly in France, Reinhardt was international sensation. He was one of the first European Jazz musicians to be taken seriously and arguably the greatest guitar player of all time.
Tunes covered in this course are Dinah, Coquette, and Swing Gitane.
