
Welcome to the gym rings course. My name is Hamza and I'll be taking you through your first weeks training with the gymnastic rings. I hope you're as existed as I was when I first got my rings. Taking your training outdoors is a wonderful motivation to exercise and I'll be teaching you how to train with the gym rings safely and effectively.
There are a few things to look out for when deciding which pair of gym rings to purchase. The ring material, size and strap. I discuss all of these in this lecture.

In this lecture I will discuss the most important techniques so that you can go about your training safely. We'll cover how to train safely for our muscles and joints and also how to maximise 'environmental safety' which includes what we use to hang up the gym rings as well as the equipment components themselves.
In this lecture we'll go through a step by step process of setting up your gym rings on a tree branch. There's a few key things to remember so take notes!
I've shown you the fundamental exercises but what if you struggle with them? Fear not, the gym rings offer a fantastic progression scheme which mainly revolves around adjusting the height of the rings. In this lecture I'll show you exactly how to go about making any of the fundamental exercises easier so that anyone can get started.
So you've started your training and your keen to make progress. We can optimise your success by improving your rest and recovery. In this lecture I'll teach you the most important things I learnt in over 6 years of resistance training.
For the class project I invite you to record 1 set of the exercise you feel like you could improve on most. Recording yourself hitting this movement and being able to see your technique from a different angle is very valuable. You may need someone to help you record or perhaps use a tripod to set your phone onto whilst you try to preform the exercise.
I'll leave you with a few random pieces of advice that I wish I could have told myself when first starting with the gym rings / first starting my exercise journey. This is a journey. A marathon. Not a sprint. Start your journey right, slow and safe and then you'll find it easier to remain consistent for the long term. Good luck!
