Learn to maximize picking speed on electric guitar by angling the pick 45 degrees to glide across strings. This reduces resistance and palm muting near the bridge enables fast scales.
Learn alternate picking with a down-up-down pattern across four notes per string on a chromatic scale. Practice slowly, then gradually increase speed to master fast soloing across the fretboard.
master muting with both hands on stage, using left-hand touch to mute strings and right-hand palm muting near the bridge to control ringing.
This is my basic lead solo setup when I'm recording and performing. If you want to dive deeper into guitar effects and learning about pedal boards and how to put one together like a pro, check out my course "Guitar Pedal boards and Amps - Essential Beginner's Guide"

Explore the relative major and minor connection and how to find the relative minor by moving down three frets. Understand that major and minor pentatonic share the same scale.
We are going to remove unnecessary things to memorize by removing the octave, sharps & flats, and high E string.
Master the low E string by heart and use the top two strings to jump around during solos. Memorize the opening eight notes and keep sharps and flats out.
Master the low a string by heart and memorize the second string through notes and a chart, using a dot-based anchor-point technique to build familiarity.
Master pentatonic position number one in C major, memorize the minor pentatonic foundation, and build confident guitar soloing using alternate picking and a backing track.
Master pentatonic position two and memorize all five pentatonic positions to solo across the fretboard. Build improvisation with alternate picking, backing tracks, and focused practice around the pentatonic skeleton.
Master position five on the minor pentatonic, memorize all five positions, and navigate octave relationships across the fretboard while improvising freely over the backing track.
This Backing Track has been used with permission from Sebastien Zunino.

Explore route 2 from position 2 to position 3 in the diatonic system, a symmetrical pattern that sounds like the major scale, starting on C at the eighth fret.
Explore how the diatonic scale intersects pentatonic positions four and five, using notes from the paired tonic scale, and practice connecting position five to position one with a backing track.
Learn to play the harmonic minor scale from low E to high E with a non-linear pathway, using 5th fret patterns and ascending/descending sequences for fast, creative solos.
Explore the note stacking technique in guitar solos, using a pentatonic on the g string, bending notes and two-note figures to create a distinctive solo voice.
