  • Intro To Hey Jude3:52

This is an intro to the course on how I will be taking you through the process of learning how to play "Hey Jude" by The Beatles. We go over some challenges that may come up and what to look out for.

    * NOTE: Please place your guitar capo on the 2nd fret to follow along this course!

    * NOTE: Make sure to download the included music sheet material in this lecture!

  • Basics & VERSE 1 Guitar Chords5:41

This section we once again go over some basics such as your string names. We look at the first verse and go over the chords that will be used, including: D, A, A7, D.

  • VERSE 1 & 2 Practice3:25

This section overviews how a true beginner would follow along in a lesson with me. I once again go over the last section chords (verse 1) but put it into practice. We then look at verse 2, which is the same chord structure as verse 1.

  • CHORUS Chords Overview3:44

This section will teach you the first Chorus section chords of "Hey Jude". Chords include D7, G, G/F#, Em, A7, D. I also go over how the chord G/F# is a transitional chord.

  • CHORUS Complete & Bridge5:24

This section will go over the second part of the Chorus. Chords again include: D7, G, G/F#, Em, A7, D. This section focuses on 1 down strum per chord. Remember to follow along with your music sheet for when to change based on lyrics. This section also covers the bridge area of the song. The chords include: D, D7, A7.

  • Recap & Outro Info4:08

This section will overview what you should know at the half way point. It also shows the pattern of how the song "Hey Jude" runs. Please refer to your download sheet from Lecture 1. We also go through the OUTRO of the song which is similar to the bridge. The chords in the OUTRO are: D, C, G, D. * If you have forgotten how to play the C Chord, please check the music sheet from section 1 for details on C chord.

  • Time for Rhythm! VERSE 1 & 25:59

This section is where we dig into Rhythm. You may have already figured it out but if not I go into detail here. This section covers verse 1 & 2.

  • Time for Rhythm! CHORUS & Extras Tips!8:14

Continuing with rhythm, we dive into the Chorus & Bridge. I also explain how to G chord & G/F# share 4 beats each where most other chords have 8. This again is why the G/F# is considered a transition chord. This is a great time to print out your music and make notes if you need.

    * We also go through the last verse of the song and into the OUTRO so you are familiar how the song ends. After this section you should feel you at least know all parts to the song.

    * We also go over a trick thats very important regarding changing chords. I cover changing from G to D.

  • Song Overview: Full Song ( Hey Jude )3:33

This is a performance demonstration of how Hey Jude can sound. Please take what you have learned through the course and play along with me the best you can! I have sped up a little so that you can continue to practice to play faster. If you need to play 1 down per chord or 2 do this until you can play 8's.

Congrats on getting through the course & good luck! More songs on the way!

  • Info on Music Sheet & Congrats!6:29
