Description

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence

A polished Copilot answer still needs a finance owner who can defend its numbers.

87 reusable tools and 112 unique prompts connect the budget, cash forecast and board story to the same financial inputs.

A budget workbook, a forecast update and a management presentation can each look convincing while using different periods or assumptions. A closing cash balance can hide a low point several weeks earlier. A confident paragraph can repeat the wrong total, and a slide can lose the sign that changes the decision.

The practical result is a connected set of working documents: a budget with checked formulas, a forecast with named assumptions, a weekly cash view, a management report and a board narrative. Each result carries its source, period and review, so the next conversation starts with an explainable number.

Mike is a founder and business leader who manages the finances of his own company. His teaching background includes 1,800,000+ course enrollments on Udemy and authorship of about 200 books on Amazon. The focus here is practical work with Microsoft Copilot, supplied financial methods and review by the person responsible for the decision.

What is inside: 87 tools, with prompts counted separately
  • 10 standalone interactive HTML working files: Driver Budget Builder, Rolling Forecast Builder, 13-week Cash Planner and Board Pack Builder.
  • 22 calculation and comparison sections: Monthly P&L, Scenario comparison, Cash and Valuation.
  • 18 document and communication templates: Owner requests, CFO memo, Management flash and Speaker notes.
  • 15 input forms, registers and action records: Access map, Data rules, Version log and Assumptions.
  • 11 review sections: Budget Formula review, cash minimum checks, project NPV checks and presentation number checks.
  • 11 prompt libraries and builders: the access Prompt builder, budget Prompts, rolling-forecast Prompts and financial-story Prompts.
  • 112 unique full prompts, separate from the tool total: owner objections, cash timing, margin explanation and board questions.

The 77 working sections sit inside the 10 HTML files. These are forms, calculations and documents to fill in; explanatory models are not added to the advertised count. Repeated demonstrations and the final imported prompt index do not create more tools or prompts. The HTML files save entries locally, copy text and print to PDF; they do not call Copilot or create Excel workbooks or PowerPoint files.

Where the tools fit

First, the access map and driver budget put the data, app and formula checks in place: 16 tools. Budget approval and rolling forecast then connect owner requests, review decisions, scenarios and assumptions: 19 tools. Cash flow and margin analysis bring the timing of money and customer economics into view: 18 tools. The management report and equipment appraisal organize reporting, cost analysis and a proposed financial decision: 18 tools. Finally, the board pack and financial story connect executive communication, investor updates and presentation notes: 16 tools.

The ten final artifacts are a finance Copilot access map; annual driver budget; budget approval pack; rolling forecast with scenarios; 13-week cash forecast; margin and customer-economics review; management report after month-end close; investment appraisal and decision memo; board and investor pack; and a ten-slide financial story in PowerPoint.

Qavrenica Specialty Coffee is the fictional example throughout: a specialty coffee roaster with B2B sales, online subscriptions and four cafés. Its budget, rolling forecast, cash, margin, closed-period report, new roasting line, board pack and presentation use example numbers rather than real company data. Close activities here mean FP&A reporting after the books have closed.

How the practice works

Step-by-step Copilot screen demonstrations use mockups rebuilt from Microsoft's public documentation. The real interface and workflow may differ. The main demonstrations use a Microsoft 365 Copilot license; some functions require paid access, and availability varies with the app, organization, region and language.

With the relevant Copilot access in Excel, practice takes place in the app. With eligible Copilot Chat access, the alternative uses pasted text or an uploaded file and manual transfer of checked formulas or text. Copilot Chat access alone does not promise in-app editing or every feature. No mandatory trial is part of the course.

Standard Excel forecasting and valuation formulas remain Excel tools that Copilot helps assemble, explain and check. Finance Agent is introduced for context only. Bookkeeping, reconciliation, accounts payable or receivable, audit, contracts, tenant administration, Copilot Studio, ERP integration and agent deployment are outside the practice. Examples are educational, with no investment, tax, accounting or legal advice.

This is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.
