Description
Are you a teacher in a Google Apps for Education district? If not, will you be going Google soon? If so, take advantage of this course on the Google Classroom. Teachers of all levels; elementary, secondary, post-secondary will benefit from using Google Classroom as an online learning platform. This is a comprehensive course covering topics from the basics of classroom, to how you can use it with your students, to lessons to teach your students how to use the application to a final side-by-side view of the teacher and student platforms.
The course is broken down into 8 sections, the introductory section, followed by 6 learning modules, and ending with an overview and wrap-up of the course. Each of the 6 learning modules will contain a video lecture, ranging from 45 seconds to 10 minutes and a handout with each lecture explaining the step-by-step process on paper. Each module will end with a multiple-choice question quiz to test your understanding of the topic. Modules 1-4 will contain challenge activities to try what you learned on your own. Finally, at the end of the course you will receive PDF files of the instructions for each module that you can download and use if you forget the material later.

Instructor
I am a technology coach at the secondary level and a Google for Education Certified Trainer. I conduct professional development for teachers in my district and tutor online. I have an extensive knowledge of all Google Apps for Education, the entire Microsoft Office Suite and numerous other business software. I teach in a Google Apps for Education district where I use and teach other staff members how to use Google products in the classroom.
Besides Google, I have taught computer science courses such as HTML web design, computer applications, technology applications, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Word and software integration. I have also been a high school yearbook adviser.
My passion is helping others integrate technology into their classrooms. I have extensive experience using Camtasia, SnagIt, Google Docs, ScreentoGif and Screencastify all of which help me create high quality screencast videos and animated instructional files.
I spent two years as a high school technology teacher, 3 years as a middle school technology teachers, 2 years as a high school business teacher and technology coach and am now on my third year as a full-time high school technology coach. Prior to teaching I was a marketing and retention specialist for an online company where I created promotional videos, e-mail copy and funnels. I have an integrated business education teaching license in grades 4-12, received my Masters of Business Administration in 2013 and will be finished with my school administrative license in December 2020.
