UPDATE
· In the organizational structure of Google Analytics account, multiple accounts are grouped under ORGANIZATION which is optional. This is useful for the management of multiple accounts for large businesses and agencies while medium and small business have just one account. (3:01-4:46)
· It is very important to note that once the Account, Property and View settings have been configured, data collected and processed by Google Analytics cannot be changed as it has been stored in a database where it cannot be changed. Hence, the need to be thoughtful in the Account, Property and View settings.
· Also, Views will only include data from the day it was created and onwards and it will not include any past data.
· Once a view has been deleted, only the Admin can recover that View within 35 days otherwise it will be permanently deleted.
UPDATE
· Under the Audience Report, the Demographics report which provides information about the age and gender of users and the Interest report which shows users preferences for certain of web content. This information can help to target audiences and help guide decisions about remarketing. It is important to note that in order to see this report, you must first enable the “Advertising feature” in the Demographics and Interests reports” for each Property. To do this, go to the Admin tab and enable this feature to “ON”.
UPDATE
· Event Tracking requires an additional implementation beyond the analytics tracking code snippet. You need to add JavaScript to the individual element you wish to track. Note that you will have to setup separate event tracking for each element you wish to track or state you wish to track. When a user performs an action on an element with the event tracking, the tracking code will pass four parameters along with the event. These parameters are Category, Action, Label and Value. You can define these parameters in your JavaScript to organize the data in your reports.
UPDATE
I would like to add the importance of linking your Google Ads account to Google Analytics, for the following:
· Create Remarketing lists in Google Analytics to use in Google Ads campaigns.
· Import Google Analytics goals and transaction into Google Ads as conversions.
· View Google Ads click and cost data in Google Analytics.
· View Analytics site engagement data in Google Ads.
UPDATE
· Filters like all other configuration settings are not applied retroactively to your data. They are applied from the moment you create them and may take up to 24 hours before being applied to your data.
· The order in which filters are applied is very important. Each filter in the sequence passes filtered data to the next filter in the sequence. So you will want to be thoughtful about the order in which you apply your filters.
· It is important to test out filters in the “Test View” before you apply them to the “Master View”.
· Also, be sure to test out your filters on real time reports to make sure they are working because they may take several hours to filter all of your data.
UPDATE
A segment is made up of one or more non-destructive filters (filters that do not alter the underlying data). Those filters isolate subsets of users, sessions, and hits:
· Subsets of users: for example, users who have previously purchased; users who added items to their shopping carts, but didn’t complete a purchase.
· Subsets of sessions: for example, all sessions originating from Campaign A; all sessions during which a purchase occurred
· Subsets of hits: for example, all hits in which revenue was greater than $10
· You can include filters for users, sessions, and hits in the same segment.
The segments that you create or import are subject to the following limits:
· 1000 per user for segments that can be applied/edited in any view (Segment availability: I can apply/edit Segment in any view).
· 100 per user per view for segments that can be applied/edited only by that user in that view (Segment availability: I can apply/edit Segment in this view).
· 100 per view for segments in that can be applied/edited by all users in that view (Segment availability: Collaborators and I can apply/edit Segment in this view).
