The Essential Skills Assessment from the Graduate Management Admission Council is a niche alternative to the more widely accepted GMAT and Executive Assessment exams for select graduate program admissions. Although it should not be considered a direct replacement for either of these exams, certain academic institutions are beginning to use this assessment as theoretically a "no prep" admissions exam. However, at least some prep has been desired by many individuals needing to take the Essential Skills Assessment, and this course is intended to provide that limited guidance on this unique exam.
This course is structured to provide insight into the unique ProctorU facilitated online-only official exam interface and show prospective test takers how to navigate an exam where physical note taking is forbidden. We cover each of the three question formats used by the exam and discuss how to engage with each of Critical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Word Problems using only a text box for notes and manual calculation when neither pen, paper, nor calculator are provided. We also take time to explain the scoring, applications, and registration processes in detail, so that potential Essential Skills Assessment test takers are no longer left searching the Internet blindly for support documentation that is not necessarily well distributed. Spend a little more than an hour to learn how to engage and excel on the Essential Skills Assessment!
