Getting Started with Gmail, Google Drive, Docs and Calendar

This is a basic video to get you going. To make use of all of Googles wonderful tools you need to have a Google account. If you already have one you might want to skip this video.

When you first log into your Gmail account, there is no need to feel daunted. In this lecture I walk you through the basics of the Gmail Interface. In less than 10 minutes you will know your way around and feel comfortable when logged in.

One of the easier lessons but an essential one!!!!

Again, not a difficult lesson. But it pays dividends to get your contacts sorted out. Saving your contacts is easy. Putting them into appropriate groups can save you a lot of time if you need to include the same people in lots of emails.

Gmail filters allows you organise your emails before they even hit your inbox. Talk about time saving! You'll be suprised how easy this is.

This is a cool little video. Lots of people have several gmail accounts. It's quite possible that you will want the same filters in each email account. Watch what I do in this video, and it will save you having to set up each email filter individually. A great time saver!

This allows you to apply labels to each email that comes in. It helps you store and find any emails easily.

This tells you what Gmail Labs are about. Not many people know about this, and even fewer use it!

This lesson is probably aimed more at those people who are in business and receive and send lots of emails. Its a watered down version of Google Analytics. It lets you analyse everything you want about your emails!! For the enthusiasts!!!!

The first video in your Google Drive series. Downloading is quick and simple so I added 'backing up files' to this video. When you back up a file onto Google Drive it is perfectly safe and can't be stolen or hacked. Backing files up onto your hard drive is no longer safe.

In this video I show you around the Google Drive interface. You'll quickly be able to find your way around G Drive.The chances are that you won't use everything here, but it will do you no harm to know where things are!

There are one or two ways to find Google Drive on your Desktop. Watch this and choose your favorite way to find it!

From time to time you will need to upload a file from your local computer to Google Drive. It might be a word doc or it could be a photo. It's a simple process to follow, and its the first part of sharing files. Or it might be that you are just putting it there for safe keeping!

Sharing files is probably what Google Drive is most used for. It is a fantastic free service that will saved you lots of time and money. Sharing files online is the way forward!

This video is not going to appeal to everyone. If you so wish you can use G Drive as a Webserver. Ok, you're not going to host your whole website this way, but its a pretty cool tool to have. You don't need to be a 'techie' to follow this!

Quickly find your way around the Google Docs interface. Not difficult to follow. Once you know where 'things are', you can move around easily and hassle free!

At just under 20 minutes this is easily the longest video in this course! Its a thorough video and when you've watched it, you will know how to create and edit a Google Doc at ease!

Google Sheets is what you are probably used to calling a spreadsheet. Find out how to work a 'spreasheet' in Google Docs.

Editing a pdf is something that you might have thought to be difficult. Find out how you can do this with ease within Google Docs.

There is only one video here on Google Calendar. However, in five minutes we cover the main points and what I use myself. This is a great free tool, and I strongly recommend using it!
