Description

Hello all, this is the free version of my Opentoonz course.  Opentoonz is a high quality and feature-rich animation suit that has been free and open source since 2016 and has been used by studios such as Studio Ghibli and Rough Draft Studios. Animation is a really fun and creative hobby, and it can come in handy in all sorts of situations.

In this course we will cover the following topics:

  • Learn about the user interface

  • Get started using the basic drawing tools

  • Learn the difference between levels and frames

  • Create frame-by-frame animations

  • Use onion skinning

  • Exporting animations

The only down side to Opentoonz is that the learning curve can be quite steep. But don't worry! In this course we will go over everything you need to know to get started.

This course contains both 'explainer' videos which provide a lot of information as well as practical exercises designed to help the learner consolidate and remember the information and turn the passive knowledge into a valuable skill.

This introduction course is perfect for people who are interested in taking the first steps in animation and don't want to spend any money. The course is completely free and the Opentoonz software is also free and opensource. Enjoy!

Who this course is for:

  • People interesting in learning to create fun animations.

Hi, my name is Paul and I am an IT teacher and an engineer. As a teacher / engineer I can combine my strong technical background with the experience I gained in passing on skills and knowledge to my students.

As a teacher I believe that it students learn better when they are learning actively. That's why I include a lot of practice exercises in my courses.

In addition to my day job I absolutely love digital illustration!
