It's fun to look at all the wonderful options that natural and man made geodes make. Take a look and get an idea of what you like before you begin your project.

If this is your first resin course with me, let's chat about the basics.
I've used this lecture in other resin courses that you may have taken, so please re-watch if you need a refresher.

Step 1 of your Geode is to add a layer of pink3:55
Let's begin with adding some pink by mixing your powered pigments with your alcohol inks for a beautiful iridescent shade. See how your extender can help with making it easier to move.
Step 2 - Learn about Pinata Gold Ink7:18
Students will use Pinata Gold and see the gorgeous shine that it makes. See how to spread the inks and create a lacing effect.
Step 3 - Krylon Gold Paint Pen and Posca Pens4:03
Students will learn how to use a paint pen for more details and exact lines for your Geode slices. Creating rings and learn how the golds are different from your alcohol inks.
Step 4 Adding final details2:14
Students will do final touch ups and add gold glass glitter before adding the resin on top.

Step 5 Fixing or tightening up any loose or stretched canvas1:20
Loose or stretched canvas will make it difficult to create an even pour. In this lecture students will learn my little trick to quickly and easily tighten a *small canvas before using resin.
*Please note - if you are using a larger canvas you may need to also use foam or cardboard on the back to prevent your canvas from sagging from the weight of using a larger amount of resin.
Step 6 Adding the Resin to our canvas3:05
Students will mix and pour their Resin onto their canvas, learn to remove air bubbles and clean up the edges.
Step 7 - Adding Shiny bits and finishing details8:53
Adding crystals and rocks, glitter and other shiny bits to your geode agate pieces.

Geo Slice - Step 1, Creating a form4:50
Students will create a silicon mold to use with resin. In this lecture, we will talk about the materials you need and begin to create your own geo slice mold.

Let's use your newly made silicone mold once it has dried. Learn to add color and textures to your geo.

Create some very easy and beautiful Geodes/Agate slices using Alcohol Ink and Resin.

I've broken the class content into easy, manageable steps for beginners.

We will be adding gems, rocks, glitter glass and any other sparkly bits you want to try in your pieces.

We will learn several important concepts like how to use alcohol inks mixed with powered pigments, see how gold pens can create lovely details. Finish off your piece by adding a clear coat of resin and add your crystals and rocks for the finished details.

Small Canvas, Pinata Gold Alcohol Ink, Crystals and rock gems of your choice,

Art Resin to seal, glitter or glass glitter, and a gold/white paint pen for finer details if you choose.
