Description

These are the sample exams for the Certification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professionals (GDTP) at the ASME Y14.5 Technologist level.I myself prepared all the questions after passing this exam, based on ASME Y14.5.2. The questions were prepared to simulate the real exam as best as possible. The tests include questions and explanations from nine chapters in proportions the same as in the real exam:

(1) 10% on scope, definitions, and general dimensioning

(2) 10% on general tolerancing and related principles

(3) 5% on symbology

(4) 20% on datum reference frames

(5) 5% on tolerances of form

(6) 5% on tolerances of orientation

(7) 25% on tolerances of location

(8) 15% on tolerances of profile

(9) 5% on tolerances of runout

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers offers two levels of certification for GD&T. The first level is the Technologist level, and the second is the Senior level. This is a mock test for the Technologist level. Both levels have two variants of the exam: the first is based on the ASME Y14.5M - 1994 standard, and the second is based on ASME Y14.5 - 2009. The person being examined has a maximum of four hours to complete the exam at this level. The test includes 150 multiple-choice questions. To pass the exam, candidates must achieve at least a 78% overall grade and 50% in each of the above categories.
