Description

This course is for people that would like to improve their knowledge and understanding of Garden Design.

You don't have to be good at art or design and although it is preferable to have some basic knowledge of garden design some techniques can be utilized in an overall garden design scheme.

The course is laid out in sections using methods that are easy to follow and with basic materials.

All the methods presented are 'hands on' and creative allowing you to try new tasks that you may not have thought about before.

The learning objectives for this course are:

To be able to build upon any garden design skills  you currently have.

The ability to understand the more advanced principles of garden design expanding the basic principles.

To improve you art and design skills as a process to achieve a presentation.

Getting you used to being able to visualize and realizing your ideas in different visual formats.

If you have completed our Beginner's guide to Garden Design it is an excellent follow up, it is also useful if you have any other experience in designing a space, however there is a cross over if you have any other type of design experience or even if  you've just done a basic hand drawn plan.

Some of the techniques can be used as a stand alone method of presenting ideas, a Principles of garden design handout is available to download.

We hope you will enjoy the course and gain new insight into the methods that professional (and amateur) garden designers make use of, it will give you more scope in your understanding of how scale, proportion colour and presentation is important in the next stages of designing a garden space.
