Description

This course emulates my own coding journey as a programmer, and I believe it is a progression that is accessible and empowering!

We start with Lua, which is a simple and highly accessible language, before moving onto C++ which exposes you to a lot of slightly more complex aspects of computer programming.

Lua is a powerful language that is quite popular for computer game scripting. It is a really great one to learn for beginners and I feel that you can get a sense of ability and confidence quite quickly by starting with that.

C++ is, of course, an industry standard low-level language; arguably one of the most important in all of software engineering.

Learning these in this order will keep you engaged and confident in the progression of your abilities.

My style is teaching is quite interactive. Many, many times throughout the course you'll be given the opportunity to complete an aspect of the project as homework, after which I will take you through my solution to the same bit of work.

My demonstration style is quite accessible as well, when I make mistakes I leave them in the videos and you are able to see my thought process whilst trying to solve them! This is one criticism I have of other coding tutorials; the teacher is always flawless in their execution and you never see the real act of programming, which is figuring out where you went wrong!
