Join me in the first course of my
Fusion 360 Product Concept series.
In this course, we will be creating a
3D headphone concept.
Along the way, i will be sharing
my tips and tricks in creating a 3D concept.
Let's get started on the first lecture.
Import the reference mesh, apply display preferences, snap to grid, and center the model. Align the ear to the origin, reduce mesh faces for performance, then finish the mesh.
Learn how to offset a face and add thickness to create the side headband, use split body, fillet radii, and symmetric extrusion with sketch constraints.
Learn to remove faces to smooth a Fusion 360 model, project sketches for joints, and use mirror, patch, and delete operations to refine the headphone headband.
Split bodies to form the headphone headband in Fusion 360, using sketches, extrude, patch, combine, and mirror to create a solid joined geometry.
block the cushion form by creating a new component, sculpting a cylinder, applying thicken operations, creasing edges, mirroring geometry, and isolating the assembly for final tweaks.
Attach cushion by beveling edges, editing forms, and using box and smooth mode; create a sketch, set capture positions, and assemble joints to secure the cushion to the air cushion.
Complete the headphone assembly in Fusion 360 by mirroring components, copying parts, and defining joints with capture position and rigid or revolute motion.
In this course, we will model a concept Headphone to showcase the power of Fusion 360 in the development stage of a product design.
As key takeaways, you will learn to:
• Model all the parts and components for our product concept
• Apply In-context and top-down assembly
• Import non-native 3D files into assembly
• Create feature patterns
• Apply joints and joint limits
• Add or remove materials through press pull command
• Use surfacing tools such as patch, offset, trim, and stitch
• Split a body into components
• Follow along with highly-detailed light to moderate instruction
About the instructor.

Together with his team he nurtures and grows one of the largest Fusion 360 communities – Fusion 360 Worldwide Users in Facebook and LinkedIn.
By the end of this course, you will realize the importance of sketches, constraints, and modify tools. Most importantly, you will gain the confidence to create your own unique and innovative product concepts with Fusion 360.
