  • Introduction19:58

Explore FS Logix for virtual desktops, detailing profile and office containers, application masking, and cloud cache; see how VHD mounting reduces IOPS and why separate shares aid backup.

  • FSlogix supported File shares (PaaS) in Public Cloud4:25

Identify fslogix supported file shares (paas) in public cloud, including Azure premium file, Azure NetApp file, Amazon fsx, and Google Cloud NetApp Cloud volume, all using SMB and AD authentication.

  • Storage account for FSlogix Profile Container (Overview)3:18

Storage accounts host FSLogix profile containers on Azure premium file or Azure NetApp file as a pass service, with locally redundant storage or zone return storage to ensure availability.

  • LAB: Azure Storage account (Azure Premium Files)22:51

Create an Azure premium file storage account in West US. Host Fslogix profile disks and msix packages with a profile share and seven-day soft delete.

  • What is Service Endpoint and Private Endpoint8:01

Explain how service endpoints route Azure service traffic over the backbone to a VNet, while private endpoints bring the service into the VNet using a private IP for secure access.

  • LAB: Service Endpoint for Azure Premium Files6:22

Secure Azure Premium Files by enabling a service endpoint for a virtual network and subnet, then verify access via mounting a drive from the virtual network while blocking internet access.

  • LAB: Private Endpoint for Azure Premium File18:30

Configure private endpoints for Azure storage to use private IPs, block public internet, and integrate private dns zones for in-network name resolution.

  • LAB-How to implement FSLogix Container in Azure Virtual Desktop9:28

This lab demonstrates configuring FSLogix profile container and Office 365 container for Azure Virtual Desktop, using group policy, policy templates, and VHD storage to manage user data and cache.

  • What is FSlogix Cloud Cache17:56

Explore FSLogix cloud cache, a disaster recovery solution that caches user profiles locally for fast reads and writes during outages. Configure multiple storage locations and exclude the Office 365 container.

  • LAB-How to Implement FSlogix Cloud Cache in Azure Virtual Desktop11:55

Configure FSLogix cloud cache for Azure Virtual Desktop using group policy, set primary and secondary storage, enable clear cache on log off, test failover to disaster recovery storage, and replication.

  • What is Application Masking4:41

Explore FSLogix app masking to show or hide applications by user group or IP address, enabling a single master image for HR and finance while reducing maintenance.

  • LAB-FSlogix App Masking10:15

Apply FSLogix app masking in a master image to hide seven zip for selected users, by creating a ruleset, testing it, and deploying rulesets to virtual machines.

  • FSlogix anti virus exclusions0:53

Learn to configure antivirus exclusions for FSLogix profiles on Azure Virtual Desktop, by excluding specific files and processes to prevent issues and keep the environment safe and smooth.

  • FSlogix for azure AD Virtual machines21:11

Learn to configure FS Logix profiles for Azure AD joined virtual machines by enabling Azure Kerberos with Azure Files, creating a premium file share, and setting NTFS and SMB permissions.

  • Encryption of storage account2:41

Encrypt the storage account for the first logic's profile share with a customer managed key stored in Azure Key Vault, giving you full control and supporting compliance.

  • LAB-Azure file encryption3:25

Create a key vault and generate a 2048 RSA key. Encrypt the storage account with a customer managed key in the same region as your workload.

  • How to Expand FSlogix disk space for users6:21

Resize the FSLogix user profile disk by expanding the VHD, verify the new size, and apply a group policy to raise all users' profiles from 30 GB to 50 GB.

  • How to Configure Exclusion in FSlogix8:42

Configure exclusion in FSLogix with a redirection XML and group policy to exclude chrome cache, downloads, and recycle bin from the profile container.

Description

A user profile contains data elements about an user information like desktop settings, persistent network connections, and application settings.

Managing desktop documents, configurations, and pictures of people's cats that make up user profiles in the user's experience is no small task. Over the years, and decades, several generations of solutions to address this huge task have come and gone. In this course, Implementing FSLogix for Non-Persistent Virtual Desktops, you'll begin by looking at FSLogix from within the lens of historical profile management approaches. First, you'll explore the architcture and installation of FSLogix for profile and Office 365 containers. Next, you'll dig deeply into some of the special considerations you should understand for success in a production implementation.

FSLogix enhances and enables user profiles in Windows remote computing environments. FSLogix may also be used to create more portable computing sessions when using physical devices.

FSLogix includes:

  • Profile Container

  • Office Container

  • Application Masking

FSLogix allows you to:

  • Roam user data between remote computing session hosts

  • Minimize sign in times for virtual desktop environments
