This lecture will explain what to expect to accomplish as a result of taking this course.
Mitigate the potential for wrist injuries by adequately stretching the flexors and extensors of the wrist, as demonstrated in the video lecture.
Avoid the T position to prevent shoulder impingement. Keep elbows near the sides in arrow alignment with a 90-degree angle for optimal triceps and shoulder activation.
Develop a stable tripod by placing the crown of the head and hands to form a triangle with elbows near 90 degrees, maintaining core-spine alignment as you progress toward handstands.
Explore pike progressions to increase push-up intensity by loading over shoulders and wrists, using pike, chair elevation, crawl warm-ups, and a 90-degree elbow at the bottom of the pike push-up.
Learn to establish a rigid, aligned free handstand from a wall by engaging the entire body and using fingertips to move the back foot away, finding balance for 5–15 seconds.
This course will teach how to use your body as your own personal gym when training the push up, and it's appropriate for all levels! Whether you can barely do one push up or you've been able to achieve multiple push ups but you're ready to start stepping up the difficulty, then this is the course for you.
You'll learn how to:
modulate the intensity of a push by using mechanical leverage; train the push up sustainably and safely; progress from push up to, ultimately, the handstand pushup using the necessary and appropriate progressions.
