ANSYS/HFSS(High Frequency Sturucture Software)
HFSS is full-wave 3D which means it solves all of Maxwell's Equations. The limit on accuracy is basically dependent on the mesh size. HFSS is very good at extracting s-parameters and fields. Q3D is quasi-static 3D which means it dosesn't solve the time dependence piece of Maxwell's equations.
HFSS is common software for microwave and Rf applications. You will have a priority in the industry if you have knowledge and experience in HFSS in order to have a project in radar system, communication systems, wireless technology, GSM, GPS and defence industry, satellite communication, aircraft radars and space applications.
This course is for students who are willing to learn and pratice in microwave engineering. You will be able to design your own projects such as dipole antenna, patch antenna at the end of the course and you will be able to understand the basics and fundementals of microwave engineering and HFSS. At the end of the course, you are not just going to learn HFSS, you can also learn the other commercial electromagnetic simulation softwares because the idea of them are same.
It will be more easy for you , if you have worked with another CAD program.However,the course is starting from basic level. Therefore, there is no pre-requirement for the course.
