To successfully complete this course, you will need some basic kitchen tools to help you create all of the delicious French breads and pastries that we will be baking. You may find that you have many or most of these items already stocked in your kitchen.
In most cases, if you don't have a particular item, you can substitute it with something else. We advise you to watch the videos through before deciding whether you feel the need to purchase any new kitchen tools.
You will notice that a stand mixer is used in many of the course videos. The stand mixer is very convenient and helpful in creating French breads and pastries, which is why it is demonstrated in these course videos and highly recommended for any serious home baker. It takes some of the labor out of mixing and combining ingredients, however, using one is completely optional. A food processor, bowl and wooden spoon, or a bowl and whisk, will often suffice. Please note: With recipes like meringue, it is recommended that an electric hand mixer is used in the case that a stand mixer is unavailable to you.
