Description

This practice test is designed to prepare you to take the OSHA Powered Industrial Trucks (forklifts) test. Comprised of 25 questions, the test will have five open-ended questions and 20 multiple-choice questions that you must answer within 30 minutes. You must score a minimum of 80% to pass. However, if you fail there may be an opportunity to take a second attempt after remedial training. Although, this is dependent on the results of the first attempt, and is based on the instructor’s discretion.

This exam is used to test an individual's knowledge of forklift operation, safety procedures, and the relevant regulations surrounding forklifts. The forklift certificate will increase compensation anywhere from 10-20% upon successful completion. Forklift certification is required by OSHA to prevent accidents in the workplace. Forklift drivers must have their training evaluated and refreshed every 3 years. A forklift certification is valid in the United States and Canada, and in any other country that uses the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to govern safety training.

Anyone designated by an employer who meets the criteria of 1910.178(l)(2)(iii) can certify forklift operators. This means that the person must have the knowledge, training, and experience to train and evaluate forklift operators. Simply make certain you are studying an OSHA-approved course, either in person or online!
