Description
FORAMIND's purpose is to create a Learning Culture. FORAMIND education tells us for what purpose Mind Maps, which is a very effective learning and thinking technique to create this culture, are used for what purpose, and most importantly, how to use them in a fun, permanent and effective learning. It aims to gain the ability to learn to learn, which is one of the most critical skills among the skills in the 21st century.
Let's not forget that 21st century is not the age of information, it is the age of using the information. People who use information well, feed their brains with select information, and learn purposefully. They are not “information obese.”
In 2016, instructor met with Tony Buzan who is inventor of Mind Mapping in London and attended “Think Buzan Licensed Instructor” training and became an authorized instructor in international arena as TBLI certificate.
He established Turkey Mind Mapping Association in 2019 to introduce mind mapping in Turkey as effective learning and thinking technique. . He is still the founding president.
He is founder of Zihinler FORA company and gave more than 50 trainings and seminars to 50.000 participant since 2014.
Due to the intense interest in Mind Maps, he learnt by himself and started to organize “How to Learn with Mind Mapping” trainings as “Weekend Crash Courses” at Middle East Technical University. As a result of these successful trainings, he was invited to METU as an expert on the subject for over 4 years. “How to Learn with Mind Mapping” was one of the most attended seminars at METU.
At he same time, he develops firt mind mapping software "FOR A MIND" and it was alive in 2021. Approx. 20.000 user are member of FORAMIND and 12.552 mind maps developed in the software.

İlk internet bağlantısının gerçekleştiği 1994 yılında ODTÜ’de öğrenci olan Akın Kağan Akçalı, 1995 yılında ODTÜ den mezun olduktan sonra ODTÜ Bilgi İşlem ’de çalışmaya başlayarak bilişim sektörüne adım attı. 1996’dan bu yana sektörün önde gelen firmalarında eğitmenlik, proje yöneticiliği, orta-üst düzey yöneticilikler olmak üzere 23 yılı aşkın süre bilişim alanında tecrübe ve deneyimler kazandı.
Olaylara neden sonuç ilişkisi içinde bilimsel yöntemler ile bakabilmeyi üniversitede aldığı doğa bilimleri eğitimine borçlu olan Akın Kağan Akçalı, bu bakış açısının getirdiği merak ve öğrenme isteği sayesinde etkin bir düşünme ve öğrenme tekniği olan zihin haritaları ile 2014 yılında tanıştı.
2014 yılında davet edildiği Özel Bir Kolejin 1. Bilişim ve Eğitim günlerinde ilk Zihin Haritalama Tekniği eğitimini vererek bu alanda eğitimler vermeye başladı.
2016 yılında Zihin Haritasının mucidi olan Tony Buzan’dan eğitimcinin eğitimini alarak TBLI (Thinkbuzan Licensed Instructor) sertifikasına sahip yetkili eğitmen oldu. Dünyada bu sertifikaya sahip 500 kişiden birisidir. Profesyonel iş hayatının yanı sıra Zihinler FORA seminerlerini “Yetkili Eğitmen” olarak vermeye devam etti. Aynı zamanda Türkiye’nin İlk ve Tek Yerli/Milli Zihin Haritası yazılımı “FORAMIND” ın geliştirilmesini sağladı.
2019 yılı başında Zihin Haritası Tekniğinin tanıtılması, yaygınlaştırılması, bu konuya ilgi duyanların bir araya gelmesi ve bir çok sosyal sorumluluk projesinin de hayata geçirilmesi maksadıyla Zihin Haritası Derneğini kurdu. Halen kurucu başkanlığını yürütmektedir.
