Hi there my name is Roy Kullick, PGA golf instructor and certified clubfitter, please allow me to introduce myself in this video.
To be able to fix that problematic slice, we first need to understand where it comes from.
Learning the causes of the slice is our main focus this video.
Now that we know which factors cause a slice, we can start fixing it.
In this video we will focus on our clubface control so that we can fix our face to path.
This is the first step to a long lasting cure for the slice.
In the previous lesson we worked on fixing our club-face so now it is time to handle the club-path and stop coming "over the top" or from the outside.
With a more neutral or even inside to out club-path we will not tilt the spin axis of the ball so much to the right and therefore stop putting that curve to the right on our ball-flight.
This video is full of drills or excersises to help us with our club-path and our face to path.
Doing these drills regularly will help you to change your movement pattern and eliminate that uncontrollable slice.
Remember to slow down when implementing a new movement pattern.
If you try to do something new while going full speed, it will be very difficult to overide your old muscle memory.
Going full speed will probably just result in your old moves, but swinging easy allows your brain to control your body in a new way.
In this video we will take a look at how we can change the settings on our driver to help us fight the slice.
There are multiple options or settings and after this video you will be able to use them to your advantage.
In this course we are going to look at the root causes of a ball-flight that slices off target.
Because a ball that slices offline will not only get us in trouble by landing in the rough, or even worse, out of bounds.
But the slice is also the cause of a lot of lost distance in our tee shots.
To hit more fairways and gain more distance off the tee, it is crucial that we first learn the cause of this slice ball-flight.
Once we get that sorted, it is time to make some changes to our swing that will allow us to start the ball straighter and keep it on-line.
So we will first work on gaining control over the club face before we move on to achieve a different club-path through the hitting area.
There will be a separate lesson with drills and excersises that will transform your swing and give you a better club-face control and a better swing-path.
Golf will become a whole lot more fun when we turn a distance robbing slice into straight distance and more fairways hit.
As a bonus at the end of the course we are going to check out the settings on modern drivers and look at ways those different settings can help us get straighter shots.
In this way we will use every little advantage that we can, to help us fight the slice.
