Welcome to the course!

Thank you for taking the first step towards improving your acrylic painting skills and stepping out of your comfort zone! We are going to have tons of fun together, and you will definitely learn a thing or two along the way!

This course is broken up into key fundamental steps, where you will follow along with me and end up with a completed work of painted pop art with acrylic paint.

Completing each step is important to understand the core techniques I teach but also to help you build up your skills and final painting. So I encourage you to follow along with me and actually complete each step before proceeding to the next one. Students who have done this in my courses are much more likely to succeed and flourish in their art journey.

Within the course, I have included a list of materials needed to complete the painting and a high resolution picture of the finished painting. We will be using these to help further illustrate the points we covered in the lessons.

List of Materials Needed for Course

• Canvas, Canvas Paper, or Multimedia Paper 11"x14"

• Palette or Palette Paper

• Towel or Paper Towels

• Glass of Water

Acrylic Paint

When it comes to paint, I like to leave it up to you to decide what works. If you already have your own supply of paint, then proceed to use those for this module.

For this course, we will use the following colors:

• Titanium White

• Ultramarine Blue

• Cerulean Blue

• Scarlet Red

• Mid Yellow (cadmium yellow is good too!)

• Unbleached Titanium White

You can choose to get this EXACT color or something close. Once again, it's totally up to you!

If you have absolutely ZERO paint supplies and want to know what I would recommend you use, here is a good starter set of colors to go with:

• Scarlet Red

• Crimson Red

• Cerulean Blue

• Ultramarine Blue

• Cadmium Yellow Medium

• Titanium White

• Mars Black

Brushes Used

• 1/2" Flat Wash Brush

• #2 Flat Brush

• #0 or #2/0 Detail Round Brush

• Toothbrush

NOTE: While these are the materials I personally use, it does not necessarily mean YOU should only use those specific pencils, sketchbooks, etc. That would be silly.

So as you gather your materials, don't freak out if you don't have the EXACT materials I mention here. If you want to have exactly every item I list here, go for it. If you have similar items I mention here, that's OK to use too.
