Course Objectives
By the end of this course, You will be able to:
1. Set up and configure a Hyperledger Fabric v2.5 network optimized for high performance.
2. Understand the key factors affecting blockchain network performance.
3. Install, configure, and use Hyperledger Caliper & Tape for performance benchmarking.
4. Analyze and interpret performance metrics from both Caliper and Tape.
5. Identify common performance bottlenecks in Fabric networks.
6. Apply various optimization techniques to improve network performance.
7. Achieve and validate transaction speeds of up to 1000 TPS in a Fabric network.8. Compare and contrast different performance testing tools and methodologies.
9. Develop strategies for continuous performance monitoring and optimization in production environments.
Create a dedicated fabric v2.5 network with caliper, featuring three organizations and endorsing peers, and set up on a virtual machine, using AWS or local Ubuntu prerequisites.
Create and configure virtual machines, install prerequisites (curl, git, docker, docker compose, node 20, npm, go, ubuntu), and connect via VSCode to prepare for Hyperledger Fabric installation including fabric binaries.
Install Hyperledger Fabric 2.5.5 prerequisites, including images, binaries, and go setup, then clone the fabric performance caliper tape repository to prepare a three-organization network for performance testing.
Set up fabric v2.5 networks with caliper and tape, configure config.yaml policies and batch parameters, and run docker compose to join channels and deploy chaincode.
Configure caliper and integrate with a Hyperledger Fabric network to benchmark throughput, latency, and resource usage, using bench and network configurations and docker deployment.
Run caliper as a container to benchmark fabric by configuring bench and network files, launching with docker-compose, and analyzing invoke and query transactions, reports, TPS, and latency.
Discover bonus content on optimizing fabric performance in fabric v2.5 using caliper measurements and tape-based techniques.
