Hi there, I’m Linda I’m from Dublin, Ireland.
It might surprise you to hear that my first yoga class did NOT go well — and it took me more than 7 years to discover what a yoga practice could really do for me.
In 2008, I was living in New York City when I realized something had to change. I was depressed, lonely, overweight, and suffering from migraines and back pain. Worse, my support network was growing smaller… and the once-exciting pace of life in NYC was starting to overwhelm me.
I’d tried yoga a few times in years past. When a friend mentioned yoga during a casual chat, I decided to give it another try. The next day, I located the closest yoga studio…
And that was it. I was hooked. I went to over 300 classes within that year. I was losing weight in a healthy way and making smarter choices about food (after all, who wants to taste the cheeseburger you had for lunch in Down Dog pose?). Migraines and back pain were a thing of the past.
And mentally, I was so much happier with myself. I even found peace and calmness in the bustle of NYC.
I feel very lucky that my first studio was a comfortable and comforting place for me. I met a whole new group of people there who were so supportive and not competitive at all. Even the uber-bendy people weren’t intimidating — in fact, they were some of the sweetest classmates I could have asked for.
I was inspired to share yoga with others like me
With all the amazing benefits I got from practicing yoga, I felt that if I could help even one person reap the same rewards, it would be a worthwhile endeavor. I went on my first yoga teacher training in 2010.
I now have over 800 hours of training and workshops completed, and have been teaching yoga full-time for 9 years. And because yoga is a lifelong journey, I’m still learning and studying...
I truly hope you’ll join me in this Intro to Yoga class
I’ve put so much love into creating a class for you that makes you say “I CAN” rather than “I can’t”. My dream is for you to discover the centered, happier version of you that I know you can be — no matter your current range of motion, flexibility, or weight.
In case you’re still worried, l’lll leave you with this: It’s called yoga practice, not yoga perfect. All you need to do is trust yourself enough to start. <3
