Welcome to the "Introduction to Electronic Wind Instruments" course! If you're new to electronic wind instruments, or you've been struggling to get the hang of your EWI, then this course is for you. My name is Evan Tate, and I'm a professional saxophonist and woodwind instructor with over 30 years of experience on the stage and in the studio. I'm also the author of several music books, including "The Book of EWI".
When I first purchased an EWI, I had trouble adjusting to it and getting the sounds and notes I wanted. I searched for resources online, including YouTube videos and other players, but I couldn't find any books or videos that addressed the challenges I was facing. That's why I created this course - to help other EWI players who are struggling to get started or improve their skills.
In this course, you'll learn the technical aspects of playing an EWI, including the use of octave rollers, fingering suggestions, and other performance techniques. We'll also cover the basics of playing a wind instrument, even if you've never played one before.

Saxophonist, Composer, Author and Instructor Evan Tate has been a unique voice on the European jazz scene for nearly 30 years. He’s has appeared at several jazz festivals, recordings, radio broadcasts, and has taught on the jazz faculties of renowned universities. Evan Tate has been a member of the Jazz Saxophone Faculty at the University of Music & Performing Arts, Munich, as well as University of Music & Performing Arts, Mannheim.
