Welcome to the EWI Start Up Mini Course!
Congratulations! You’ve purchased an EWI! Maybe it’s your first experience with an electronic wind instrument. Maybe it’s your first experience with a wind instrument of any kind! Maybe you’ve been fiddling around with the EWI and haven’t really been able to get into it the way you want. Maybe you’re having difficulty playing it.
That is exactly where I was as I first purchased an EWI. I had difficulty adjusting to it. I had difficulty NOT getting sounds and notes I didn’t want. I searched the web, YouTube videos, and contacted other players for help, but I ran into two problems:
I found absolutely no books or videos to help me.
Most videos only talked about programming tips and tricks and nothing about just getting over hurdle of playing the instrument.
If this sounds familiar to you then this course is for you!
My name is Evan Tate and I am a professional saxophonist and woodwind instructor with over 30 years of experience on the stage and in the studio.
I am also author of the books “250 Jazz Patterns”, “Blues & Rhythm Changes in All Keys” as well as “The Book of EWI”.
This course will cover technical aspects, such as the use of the octave rollers, fingering suggestions, and other performance techniques.
I sincerely hope you get the most of this mini-course and please feel free leave your comments and suggestions.
So, let’s get started!
Welcome to the "Introduction to Electronic Wind Instruments" course! If you're new to electronic wind instruments, or you've been struggling to get the hang of your EWI, then this course is for you. My name is Evan Tate, and I'm a professional saxophonist and woodwind instructor with over 30 years of experience on the stage and in the studio. I'm also the author of several music books, including "The Book of EWI".
When I first purchased an EWI, I had trouble adjusting to it and getting the sounds and notes I wanted. I searched for resources online, including YouTube videos and other players, but I couldn't find any books or videos that addressed the challenges I was facing. That's why I created this course - to help other EWI players who are struggling to get started or improve their skills.
In this course, you'll learn the technical aspects of playing an EWI, including the use of octave rollers, fingering suggestions, and other performance techniques. We'll also cover the basics of playing a wind instrument, even if you've never played one before.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced EWI player, this course will help you overcome the hurdles of playing the instrument and get you on your way to playing the music you love.
I hope that you find this mini-course helpful in your journey to master the EWI. Please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions, as I'm always looking for ways to improve this course and help my students learn and grow.
So, let's get started and unlock the full potential of your EWI!
