Everything you need to know about CRYPTO

This summary video explains what a blockchain is. After Reading your coursebook and reviewing this video, you should be able to explain what a blockchain is and identify its properties.

In this video you will learn what Bitcoin is and how it came to be a trillion dollar asset, born through the ashes of the global financial crises. I have included plenty of extra resources in this section to really help educate you on Bitcoin. Some of these resources will even take you back in time. These resources have rarely ever been seen and go back in time to when Satoshi was still building bitcoin and chatting on forums with his friend Hal Finney. Unfortunately Hal has passed away but you can learn more about him through these resources. Hal used to talk to Satoshi and helped pioneer and shape Bitcoin. I have also included the Bitcoin Whitepaper, which is like a manifesto or constitution. In addition, I have included a summary in PLAIN english of the Bitcoin whitepaper. I really want to educate you on Bitcoin, so I summarised it for you because it can be slightly technical.

When people think about cryptocurrencies they are effectively thinking about "altcoins." Understand everything you need to know about altcoins and their use cases. After this chapter, you should be able to understand the different type of altcoins, their utility and how they form the crypto ecosystem. This will help you with your investment decisions in cryptocurrency. In your resources, take a look at all the transactions on the Ethereum network and Matic network. Remember from the course that token altcoins run on layer 1 coins like Ethereum and Matic. I have also included a tokenomics course for you to better understand the economy of altcoin projects.

In your learner resource I have linked USDT tether and Circle (the owners of USDC). If you are interested in learning more about the two major stablecoin players, take a look at their website and see what they have to say.

Make sure you watch the tutorials on creating an account on an exchange, creating a wallet and trading crypto. In the resources, I have included the links to the major exchanges in USA/CANADA, Asia, UK and Australia.
