Everything You Need to Know for the SAT Reading Section
What you'll learn
- Preparing for the SAT Reading section
- No prerequisites
The Everything You Need to Know for the SAT Reading Section provides everything you need to know to do well on the SAT Reading Section. The course assumes that you are at the beginning or towards the beginning of your test prep, so it is intended to be comprehensive. However, those further along in their studies will find a lot of use in this course, as well.
Included are techniques for reading the passages, recognizing typically right and typically wrong answers, identifying question types, planning your pacing, and understanding the structure and scoring scheme of the section. You will be able to follow along through video lectures, content quizzes, and downloadable handouts.
The course begins with a look at the overall structure of the Reading section, then gets into how to recognize typically right and wrong answers and use POE to improve your odds of picking the right answer. After that, you will get a couple different techniques for Reading through a passage, each with its own pros and cons. Then, you will get a look at all the different Question types and how to approach each. Finally, the course ends with a section on Pacing and a Review. Good luck!

Hi! I'm Robert, a Test Prep instructor who specializes in the SAT, PSAT, ACT, and TOEFL tests. I have worked with many students and have taught many classes over my years as an instructor.
I began as an instructor for Princeton Review and then worked on my own as a tutor as well as with tutoring companies such as LATutors. Currently, I am teaching classes and working with students one-on-one for Novastar Learning.
I have over 10 years of experience in Test Prep and would love to put all my knowledge about what works, what doesn't work, as well as how to help students deal with these often stressful tests into instructional videos for students.
