EVE-NG - How To Build Cyber Security and Networking Labs

This was one of the most confusing concepts to understand when I was learning EVE-NG.  How does the Bridged and Cloud networks inside EVE-NG map to the VMNet Bridged and Host-Only interfaces?  This lesson is gold!  You're finally going to CEARLY understand how this all works.  Let's go!

One of the greatest challenges beginners face when approaching EVE-NG is the question of IMAGES.  How do we actually install the VMs? Let's do it guys! It will all make sense after this lecture.

For the Cisco Routers and Switches!  In this lecture you'll learn where to legally find Cisco routers and switches images and how to add them into EVE-NG.  Once you important these images you'll have everything you need to study for the CCNP, CCNP or even CCIE.  You can even use these to study for the CompTIA Security+ or Network+ exams!  This is full hardware emulation so you can use it build real labs that use DHCP Relay, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, Port Security and more!  Let me show you how to get this ball rollin'

Can you add a Palo Alto Networks Firewall into EVE-NG? Yup.  In this lecture I'll walk you through the process of adding the OVA.  Let's go!

OWASP Juice Shop is amazing.  It contains tons of vulnerabilities that map to the OWASP Top 10 including insecure deserialization, SQLi, Reflect and Stored XSS, XXE and so much more.  It is the most active OWASP vulnerable web application project and is the most realistic representation of a real-world vulnerable web application!  In this lecture we'll kick things off by setting up the underling OS in EVE-NG!

Now it's time to build out our vulnerable environment!  In this lecture we'll setup a Palo Alto Networks Firewall, a LAN, WAN and DMZ!  We'll configure security policies, NAT policies, interfaces, zones and more.  We're going hard in this one!  Let's go!

In this lecture you'll learn how to configure Static Destination NAT.  We're going to set up Static Destination NAT so we can swap out the incoming destination IP of the "public" address (the external interface of the Palo Alto Networks Firewall) to the internal private IP of our Juice Shop Vulnerable Web App.  Sounds complicated I know (took me a while to understand too) but don't worry after going through this configuration and actually testing our network it will all make sense :)

This is the lecture that almost refused to be made.  Watch closely and you'll get an inside peek into my thought process as I troubleshoot a complicated networking issue.  Almost every problem will be thrown at us but you'll watch me calmly and thoughtfully navigate the minefields as we slowly and systematically approach an eventual solution at the end of the lecture!  SPOILER! Don't scroll to the end to see the first hehehe.  This lecture is really going to help you build a troubleshooting mindset when you encounter issues in your lab.  Let's go!

Now we install Juice Shop.  This is an excellent example of encountering technical hurdles and surmounting them.  Once again, after going through this - you will learn how to approach esoteric problems during lab setup and watch over my shoulder as I take you on an inside tour of my thought process.  Let's do this baby!
