Description

Dark Patterns are the unspoken and unethical ways companies use in their products and applications, to trick users into doing things that they do not intend. Things like, over paying, giving up information without consent, subscribing without knowledge etc....

What this class intends to, is to show how you can use them, but in an ETHICAL MANNER, that will not only respects your users, but will gain their trust. This is an important point to consider as many companies tend to use these tactics to trick the users in order to gain more information or even money from them and that is not the right thing to do. By knowing how these Dark patterns work followed with an insight on how to change them for the better, you will be able to create amazing user experience that will not only benefit your company, but will also create the highest commodity there is between the company and its users... TRUST.

So if you are concerned for your users and actually care about creating a good reputation for your product, this course is for you to do so.

I will be breaking down the selected Dark Patterns bellow and will tell you how to Ethically incorporate them:

  • Roach Motel

  • Sneak into the Basket

  • Spamming

  • Forced Continuity

  • Confirmshaming

  • Privacy Zuckering
