Welcome to this course on business vision and mission! Strategic planning is a critical component of an organisation's management that aids in setting priorities, resource allocation, and ensuring that everyone is working towards the same goals and objectives. For it to be effective, however, you need a vision and a mission statement.
In this lecture, we'll look at the parts of these statements, and discuss the critical responsibility they play.

After we're done, you should have a solid foundation of words to craft your mission statement.

In this lecture, we'll discuss four possible tests for gauging your mission statement's efficiency: check-boxing, reflecting if it works on you, presenting it to a small team of stakeholders, and seeing if it is distinguishable. You can repeat these tests until you are satisfied with your mission statement.

Now you are prepared to launch your mission statement. For your launch, you should schedule a meeting just for the mission statement and create a visual aid for your presentation. It should use the company colours, tagline, and mottos; and should be sent out to all the stakeholders in advance of the meeting. If you follow the steps outlined in the lecture, your mission statement launch will go smoothly and reinvigorate your organisation. Congratulations on making it this far in your journey! In the coming lectures, you will learn more about how to bring your mission statement to life.
