This video, THE GOSPEL, focuses on presenting 7 basic truths a follower of Jesus Christ believes.
God Exists - God Loves You - Jesus is the Proof of God's Love - God Offers Life to Everyone - God's Gift is Received by Faith in Jesus Christ - If we Reject Jesus we will Perish - Faith in Jesus Brings Eternal Life
These 7 Truths are found in the most familiar verse in the Bible, John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
(note: videos for this series were recorded live at Calvary Chapel Salt Lake City)
Second in the 'Essentials For The Journey' series, this video 'THE BIBLE' addresses the key question 'Can I Trust The Bible?' The Bible claims to be the The Word of God and the authoritative guide for Christians. Therefore, Knowing and Trusting the Bible is essential for Christians in their Journey of Following Jesus Christ. The key verse for this study is 2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This third video in the 'Essentials For The Journey' series, ASSURANCE, deals with the issue of Assurance of Heaven for those who trust in Jesus Christ. It addresses the question 'Can I Be Sure?'. Having a settled confidence in our relationship with God and a certainty of our future with Him is the Key to experiencing Joy in the adventure of following Jesus Christ. The key verse for this study is 1 John 5:11-13
“11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
This fourth Video in the 'Essentials For The Journey' series, PURPOSE, addresses a truth that is of vital importance to each and every one of us: GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE. Understanding this and seeking to find our purpose in Him is what makes following Jesus Christ a Great Adventure. The key verse for this study is Ephesians 2:10
“10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
NOTE: BECAUSE THIS IS A 'BONUS' SESSION, THERE IS NO TEST ASSOCIATED WITH IT.

3. If, after completing the course, you would like a free Bible, just give us your mailing information and we'll send it to you. Ask and you shall recieve!
Note: Lecture 1 contains an optional pdf manual that covers the material of the course. It is organized in a different order from the Videos and also includes additional worksheets to help you get started in getting into the Bible.
This brief course is especially aimed at those who are just beginning their personal journey of following Jesus. I created it by asking myself "If I could only pass on a few things to a new follower of Jesus, what would they be?". I've also built each message around a single, central Bible verse in order make it easy to remember the content by tying it to a verse which could be easily memorized.
ENJOY THIS CLASS AND KNOW THAT YOUR COMMENTS, RESPONSES AND FEEDBACK ARE APPRECIATED.
Blessings,
Pastor John Cowan
