    Contraindications to Sound Healing

    Pregnancy: Do not play Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing instruments on the body during pregnancy, and do not play loud sounds close to the body during the first 12 weeks.

    Heart Pacemakers: Do not play Tibetan bowls or other sound instruments on the chest or back.

    Metal Implants/Petal Pins: Do not play Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing instruments on the body near these implants/pins.

    Open wounds/cuts/bruises: Do not play Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing instruments on the body in the location of these injuries.

    Heart Arrhythmia: May be set off by drumming, so avoid using vigorous percussion techniques with Tibetan singing bowls in these cases.

    Stroke/Concussion: Do not play Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing instruments on the cranium.

    Thrombosis: Do not put Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing instruments on or near the affected area.

    Sebaceous Cyst: Do not play Tibetan singing bowls or other healing instruments directly on the cyst.

    Cancerous Tumors: First prepare the recipient with gentle, relaxing sounds for a few sessions, then focus for a few sessions on boosting the recipient’s immune and lymph systems. Then do more direct work with the tumor, and place a strong emphasis on stimulating lymph and facilitating the body to detox.

    Sound-induced Epilepsy: Do not play any sounds under any circumstances.

    Working off the body with healing sounds is okay for nearly everyone. Please note the exceptions above.
