I am a language enthusiast. I enjoy learning new languages and in turn teaching others who have similar linguistic passion. I graduated in Paris with a Bachelor's in French and obtained my certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
When I was asked by the university's student services to teach a group of foreign students French, I saw an opportunity to help people interested in learning and that is when I began teaching French and English as a freelance instructor.
During the 5 years of teaching, I fine tuned my method to focus on beginners who are overwhelmed with the languages' rules and grammar.
I start off with the basics, like pronunciation and vocabulary, to familiarize students with the language, to make it seem less "alien".
From there, we advance to grammar and sentence structure to encourage students to start speaking confidently (even encourage mistakes). Usually, my students will have a sufficient foundation to build on and continue learning the language on their own.
I find it very rewarding as an educator, to experience the joy my students have when they are motivated and confident enough to take their language-learning journey independently and reach the level they are happy with.
I believe that language learning should be both fun and simple - yes, you need dedication and passion to learn, but it should never be complicated.
Personally, my goal is to be fluent in 5 languages (at least).
